Sonia is a survivor of the outbreak in AMC's The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. She is a resident at the Montmartre Rooftop Community.

Overview[]

After her husband's death, Sonia is shown to be nearly inconsolable as she shunned everyone who approached her and hadn't eaten for days. However, after she met Laurent, she regained faith in life and started to live her life normally. However, her community was attacked shortly thereafter.

When questioned by Genet and her forces, Sonia is shown to be quite brave and openly defiant against them, despite also fearing for her life. Furthermore, she proclaims Laurent to be everyone's savior and, although bothered, doesn't pay much thought to what Genet has to say about the boy.

Season 1[]

"Paris Sera Toujours Paris"[]

Laurent approaches Sonia, whose husband had died a few days before and has refused any food or comfort since. While Sonia has been inconsolable to everyone else, she accepts a hug from the boy, causing Fallou to declare that Père Jean was right about him.

"La Dame de Fer"[]

At the Montmartre Rooftop Community, Stéphane questions Sonia about Daryl and why he came from the south. Sonia states that Daryl came in service of the Union of Hope to deliver the boy. Stéphane asks if she means the kid that the nuns had raised at the Abbey of Saint Bernadette, but Sonia tells him that Laurent isn't some kid, and he has a greater destiny. Genet approaches, commenting that it's true then and he actually exists. Genet explains that she had heard about a special boy from Lourdes whose birth was deemed a miracle which Sonia confirms. Genet had thought it to be only a rumor and a foolish tall tale that everyone in the Union had wanted to believe. "The fools are the ones who put their faith in you. Because Laurent will save us all. Even you," Sonia returns. Genet states that the weak, the submissive, the credulous, people like the Union of Hope, are what got the world into this mess in the first place. Noticing a baby that continuously cries, Genet takes it from the frightened mother. Stéphane asks if Laurent is dangerous to her, and Genet states that the boy gives the people false hope and it's a disease that must be rooted out. Stéphane promises to find both of them, and he leaves as Genet soothes the baby with a surprising tenderness.
