Grand Theft Auto V. Games with the best end-game content

Table of Contents

It isn't photogrammetry, but graphics mods to GTA V can make your jaw drop.

  1. Genre: Gangster TPS/FPS
  2. Play it if: you like crashing into NPCs, shooting, and running from the police
  3. Do not play when: You are preparing for a driving test
  4. Related Games: Watch Dogs, Sleeping Dogs

Rockstar is arguably the pinnacle of video game development. A case in point are the adventures of Franklin, Trevor, and Michael – perhaps the best game ever released. Maybe there are some critics, but customers don't seem to care, and the game still sells like hot cakes.

Which is all the more interesting since the latest installment of GTA is 5 years old, yet still generates revenue for its creators – and not just any revenue, as in terms of sales, it still tops the Steam charts – for example, it was included in the list of best-selling productions of 2017 right next to that year's massive surprise hit, PUBG. Due to the sandbox nature of GTA V, there are many ways to kill your free time after completing the storyline – even if you've done all the possible endings.

For those who don't want to part with this title too soon, there are additional activities ranging from golf and tennis, off-road racing, triathlon, hunting, yoga lessons, flight school, and gun smuggling. Apart from that, a slew of random events awaits, as well as missions commissioned by the strangers and weirdos, we meet in the game world. When even this proves insufficient, you can always take up collecting: letters, fragments of spaceships, a crashed submarine, and toxic waste. You can even train your dog.

Haven't you had enough? I recommend that you drive around town in a manner that complies with traffic laws. And when the excitement of standing in a traffic jam at a red light subsides and the game is 100 percent complete, you can still drive around in the fastest cars, rob stores, run from the police, and kill NPCs – and that's the beauty of GTA. And then, there is the so far unresolved question of the allegedly hidden jetpack – an urban legend, or is there really something to it...?

As if all that wasn't enough, GTA V obviously has a ton of mods, and we wrote about some of them here.

Pokémon Black 2 / White 2

Although Pokémon Black 2 / White 2 is very enjoyable to play, the first generation of Pokémon creatures was the least weird – and most pleasing to the eye.

  1. Genre: RPG
  2. Play it if: you intend to catch them all
  3. Do not play when: your pockets are for keeping your wallet and phone
  4. Similar games: Digimon series, Temtem

Pokémon are, after Mario the plumber, the second greatest phenomenon of the gaming culture. The plot, in which the main character leaves the warmth of family home and heads out into the world to catch all the pocket creatures, ignited the minds of adolescent rebels.

Unsurprisingly, this proved a great concept for portable consoles – we were able to interact not only with iconic characters, but also with the poke creatures. However, the real frenzy came decades after the first episodes, with Pokémon GO – though I personally think that the most interesting installment of the series is Pokémon Black 2 / White 2 – the last part on the NDS.

Completing the story campaign involves defeating the previous Pokémon Master and her charges – and thus earning the title of Pokémon Master. However, it doesn't mean the end of the fun on the oldish console, because now, you can finally focus on collecting all 649 creatures (you should remember about the "interaction" Pokémon, where the only way to get them is to... interact with them on the game map).

In addition, it turns out to be possible to reach previously inaccessible locations in search of collectibles, fight with much stronger Pokémon trainers and explore new places – including completely unknown cities, which the player did not have access to at first.

NEWER INSTALLMENTS?

In fact, the above comments apply to all the games in the series – because it evolves quite slowly, which is something that fans are increasingly resentful of. This does not change the fact that all parts of the series can be played for dozens of hours after the storyline is over.

Burnout Paradise

Good, old Burnout Paradise – but glad to see the upcoming release of Burnout Paradise HD Remaster.

  1. Genre: racing game
  2. Play it if: you love to hit the road
  3. Don't play it if: the inability to get out of your car to massacre NPCs is a disadvantage for you
  4. Similar games: Need for Speed series

Is it really necessary to explain why Burnout Paradise made it to this list? It's a racing game released in early 2008 with – it should be clearly noted – a huge map and pleasantly addictive gameplay. This is that enigmatic "something" that we like the most – even if we are not necessarily motorheads. The magic of Burnout is worth visiting, especially for younger players, due to the upcoming release of Burnout Paradise Remaster.

It's all hunky-dory, but where do you drive after completing the campaign? I could go on, as I did with Assassin's Creed: Origins, about the beautiful and breathtaking landscapes. However, I'll hold off on that until the release of the Remaster – after all, 13 years since its debut is lots time – focusing solely on the extra activities we can indulge in Burnout Paradise.

One of the options – in addition to winning races – is a variation related to the search for collectibles scattered throughout the map – billboards with the logo of the game, which should be smashed. There are a hundred and twenty of them in total, so there's plenty to find – and their destruction often turns out to be linked to stunts, of which there are fifty in the city.

We also have the ability to unlock shortcuts by crashing through as many as four hundred glowing yellow gates that read "Private Property - Stay Away!" So, you may not be able to get out of your vehicle and shoot civilians with a rifle like in GTA V, but for maxing out games, there's plenty to keep you busy in Burnout Paradise.
