List of Crypts in Shadow of the Tomb Raider Game Shadow of the Tomb Raider Guide and Walkthrough

Last update: 19 September 2018

Crypts can be found in the major locations in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. There are a total of 10 crypts to be found and explored in the game. Some crypts are available from the very beginning of the game, others may require you to advance the story to a certain point or have additional equipment for Lara. While exploring crypts, Lara must avoid pitfalls and solve smaller environmental puzzles. The aim of a visit to each crypt is to find a sarcophagus, in which there is a valuable object (e.g. a new outfit for Lara). A detailed walkthrough of each crypt can be found in our guide.

All Crypts in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

10 crypts were divided according to the main locations of the map of the world. We have also added a video guide to each description that contains a detailed walkthrough of each crypt.

  1. Crypts in Peruvian Jungle - there are 2 crypts to be explored
  2. Crypts in Kuwaq Yaku - there are 2 crypts to be explored, one of them requires the shotgun
  3. Crypts in The Hidden City - there are 5 crypts to be explored, two of them require you to start the Hearts and Minds side quest, two other require access to upper city.
  4. Crypts in San Juan - there is 1 crypt to be explored

Completing a crypt consists in locating its entrance (this may require additional equipment), passing through all chambers without getting killed by traps, solving environmental puzzles, and finding the sarcophagus. After opening the sarcophagus, Lara gains a new valuable item and the crypt is considered as completed (although you still have to leave it, usually the game offers you a shortcut).

While exploring crypts, Lara can also find rare resources (e.g. gold ore) and various secrets (documents, murals, relics, etc.).
