Charlie Gallagher was a serving UK police officer for thirteen years where he performed many roles. Starting out as a front-line response officer, he was also a member of a specialist tactical team and worked as a detective in various areas, including elements of Counter Terrorism.

Charlie now writes full time. He lives on the south coast of England with his wife and two kids and, somehow, a spaniel, a tortoise and a two cats, one of which has far more twitter followers.

Long but never felt too long. No one does human stories better. This was three stories really, converging into a very satisfying third act. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.

Outstanding. Fascinating period on British history, incredibly well researched and reads like a fiction thriller - only you know it was real. Would thoroughly recommend.

Always great and often long, I felt this one was maybe too long. You could see the third act coming and then it was a little dragged out. Great story though, obviously well told (it's Stephen King!) and a read I would highly recommend. ...more

Incredibly well researched, I swear Lansing was huddled in the boat with them, constantly scratching out notes and observations! Amazing story very well told. Got the bug for real-life tales at the moment and this one was very satisfying.
