The Beauty of Bruised Roses

Paczki, pronounced PUNCH-key, was my Grandmother’s tour de force––a beautiful delicate brioche-like doughnut filled with homemade strawberry jam. At least, that was her version. Well, her American version.

"Paczki" is the plural form of "paczek," which in Polish literally means "a parcel" or "package". It’s sort of a sweet package, a parcel of love.
