Faith Hunter's Junkyard Cats novella series is available in Audible, eBook, and "ridiculously expensive" (her words) trade paperback books at this time.

Faith's Jane Yellowrock series is a dark urban fantasy. Jane is a full blooded Cherokee skinwalker and hunter of rogue-vampires in a world of weres, witches, vampires, and other supernats.

The Soulwood series is a dark-urban fantasy / paranormal police procedural /para-thriller series featuring Nell Nicholson Ingram, an earth magic user and Special gent of PsyLED.

Her Rogue Mage novels—Bloodring, Seraphs, Host, and the RPG Rogue Mage—feature Thorn St. Croix, a stone mage in a post-apocalyptic alternate reality.

Faith writes full-time, tries to keep house, and is a workaholic. She gave up cooking for lent one year and the oven hasn’t been turned on since. Okay – that’s a joke. She does still make cold cereal and sandwiches. Occasionally, she remembers to turn on Roomba (that she named Duma$$ because it fell down the stairs once.)

Faith researches in great detail, and tries most everything her characters do. Research led to her life’s passions – jewelry making, orchids, Japanese maples, bones, travel, white-water kayaking, and writing.

Jewelry-making was the occupation of two of her characters: Thorn St. Croix, the Rogue Mage, and the main character of BloodStone, written by her pen name, Gwen Hunter. She fell in love with the art form. Though she doesn't have time for jewelry as much as she used to, Faith makes, wears, and sometimes gives away her jewelry as promo items to fans and as prizes in contests. See her FaceBook Fan Page at http://www.facebook.com/official.fait... for pics.

Faith loves orchids. Her favorite time of year is when several are blooming. Pictures can be seen at her FaceBook page. And yes, she collects bones and skulls. Many of her orchid pics are juxtaposed with bones and skulls —a fox, cat, dog, cow skull, goat, and deer skull, (that is, unfortunately, falling apart) and the jawbone of an ass. She just received a boar skull, and the skull of a mountain lion (legally purchased from a US tannery) hit by a car in the wild.

Her latest love is Japanese maples, and she has managed to collect over thirty in one year.

She and her husband RV, traveling to whitewater rivers all over the Southeast.

And that leads Faith to kayaking – her very favorite sport. Faith discovered whitewater paddling when she was researching her (Gwen Hunter) mystery book, Rapid Descent. She took a lesson and—after a bout of panic attacks from fear of being upside down trapped in a boat—discovered she loved the sport.

Faith is a voracious reader.

Under other pen names, notably, Gwen Hunter, she writes action adventure, mysteries, and thrillers. As Gwen, she is a winner of the WH Smith Literary Award for Fresh Talent in 1995 in the UK, and won a Romantic Times Reviewers Choice Award in 2008. As Faith, her books have been on the New York Times and USA Today Bestseller lists, been nominated for various awards and won an Audie Award with Khristine Hvam, among other awards. Under all her pen names, she has more than 40 books, anthologies, and complications in print in 30 countries.

Angie Baby is creeping me out! If this is a preview of her powers and how stubborn and wilful she is I'm scared about the time when she evers her teenage years. Poor Molly and Evan are going to have one hell of a hard time keeping her powers a secret.

We also learn more about the abilities possessed by the light dragons (can't remember the proper spelling of their real name and I'm too lazy to go look for it) and those creatures are scary. No one should have that kind of power over time!

All in all it's a good addition to the series and add some depth to the overall story. I recommend it to fans of the series but you can go without it.

Review for audiobook ~ 4 stars story ♫ 5 stars narration.
I enjoyed this novella very much. This isn't a book to miss if you're reading the series. I think there was a lot of important information that adds greatly to the series.
The narration by Khristine Hvam was excellent and extremely enjoyable. 5 stars for her performance.

Since this seems to be the week for everyone telling me my reviews are stupid because I am stupid western woman, let me say I didn't read the other books in this series.

On one hand, I really like this. Jane Yellowrock is a very interesting character and the audio narration was brilliant. Yet I found myself getting increasing annoyed with the story. I am sorry but in the middle of a big fight you are going to take the time to describe what your partner is wearing? Seriously? Additionally, I kept getting told the same thing over and over. And finally, I am sick and tried of the all powerful Mary Sue. Jane was totally wonderfully until she bound Angie and then you were like WTF, how she do that.

It's a shame really because Hunter has one of the best relationships between the human and the animal in any were or shifter story I have seen.

Really liked this one. Jane having to deal with her goddaughter Angie’s magic powers coming in too early was interesting.

This is one short story that has a bit of relevance to book 10, and that I'd recommend reading beforehand. It's not that you'll be lost otherwise, just that you'll understand what Jane is referencing a bit more. It sheds some light onto the attempted binding by Leo.

I stand by what I said in the original review. This story is fast and right in there, and it's interesting as well. It has a lot of witch-magic in it, as well as family love and character growth.
Also as I said in the original review, I'm looking forward to seeing how it affects the rest of the series, for I honestly don't remember!

Listened to as an audiobook

Oh, this was fast. Had planned to split this up over two days at least, but ended up listening to it in one go.
I'm a sucker for witches, and the story of Molly and Angelina intrigue me. I wish we saw more of them in the over all series, but maybe only seeing them every book or so makes them more interesting.
Anyway, this was a fast listen with a lot of action and again some character development!
Can't wait to see how the stuff happening in this novella affects the rest of the story!

This is a fantastic stand-alone, a Jane Yellowrock novella and a wonderful addition to the series. I picked it up as a freebie on Audible, but I've read all of the novels in the series and most of the short stories, too.

This book focuses heavily on Angie Baby, the daughter of Jane's best friend Molly Trueblood and her husband Evan, all witches of strong talent. Molly and Angie pay Jane a visit, and, naturally, all hell breaks loose. Some interesting fodder for new stories in this little gem, and a must-read for any fan of Jane and company.

Once again, this was a really strong short. There is a lot of action and intensity.

However, I am kind of over "Angie Baby." For one, at least a couple of years have gone by. She should be less of a baby and more of a small child. Also, the child need some serious discipline. Whereas once upon a time, she was precocious, now she is way beyond brat.

On the other hand, there were some great, long-coming moments with Molly.

The members of Yellowrock Security were as entertaining and intriguing as ever. However, I am going to have to avoid Jane stories that center around Angie. That child makes my skin crawl, and I feel so angry and repulsed after any interactions with her character that I just couldn't enjoy what non-Angie moments there were.

This JY novella features Molly and Angie Baby. It soon becomes clear that Angies is more than just precocious for her age. It starts with an urgent phone call to Jane from Angie to stop "HER" from stealing a sabre tooth skull. Angie is insistant verging on panic. The rest of the story is discovering who "HER" is , why she wants the bones and why Angie is so insistant on stopping her, plus some revelations about Molly's daughter!

There is an episode of Babylon 5 where Telepath Lyta Alexander tries to explain to Michael Garibaldi just how poweful she is.

Michael Garibaldi : "I need to know Lyta. Something's happened to your abilities. You're not a P-5 anymore. Hell, you're not even a P-12. You're the strongest telepath that I've ever seen. What did the Vorlons do to you Lyta? Who...? What are you?"

Lyta Alexander : "I've only recently begun to understand it myself. You know the Vorlons used telepaths as weapons during the Shadow War but what no one stopped to consider was that in a war you have a certain number of small weapons, a certain number of medium-size weapons and one or two big ones. The kind of weapons you drop when you're out of small weapons and the medium weapons and you've got nothing left to use."

Michael Garibaldi : "Someone like that would be the telepathic equivalent of a thermonuclear device - a doomsday weapon."

Lyta Alexander : [Lytas eyes begin to glow as she turns toward Garibaldi] "Pleased to meet you, Mr. Garibaldi."

Basically Angie Baby is the witch equivelent of Lyta.

Bound No More is an audio short story from the Jane Yellowrock series written by Faith Hunter and read by Khristine Hvam. It takes place after the events of the ninth novel, Dark Heir, has Molly Trueblood and her daughter, Angie, visits Jane Yellowrock, but a light dragon will cause secrets to be brought to light. It is a brand new short story written for Blood in Her Veins: Nineteen Stories from the World of Jane Yellowrock.

Bound No More has Molly Trueblood and Angie Baby coming to New Orleans for business and to visit Jane Yellowrock. When the house falls under attack by one of the light dragons, Jane discovers some of the secrets both Molly and Angie Baby are keeping – heavy secrets that could cause danger in the future. Jam packed with action and intrigue, this story sets up some new storylines for the series.

Bound No More is written and narrated rather well. It is jam packed with action and intrigue and sets up some new storylines for the series. I always like reading the interactions between Molly Trueblood and Jane Yellowrock – their friendship has grown and evolves so much over the series and it is such a joy to read about them together.

All in all, Bound No More is a well written, but more importantly, it expanded the wonderful world that is the Jane Yellowrock universe.

“Bound No More” is a story about one of my favorite supporting characters in the Jane Yellowrock series, Angie Baby. Angie is only seven but has thwarted all attempts by her parents to bind her magic. She has prophetic visions/dreams of what is to come and this time she tries to warn Jane that a Sabertooth skull buried in Jane’s backyard must be protected from the young arcenciel (dragon). Additionally, Jane is not to hurt the creature but did anyone tell the arcenciel not to hurt Jane?

When Molly and Angie come for a visit, Jane struggles with Angie’s defiance in disobeying her parents. She soon realizes that if they do not get Angie in check she could accidentally harm herself or others. However, before she can come up with a solution she has got to figure out how to stop the attacks by the arcenciel while keeping the skull out of her reach.

Molly also has some news of her own which might be of assistance in understanding why the arcenciel is attacking them. There is plenty going on in this read and a few funny moments as well. I just wish Angie Baby was featured in more of Jane’s installments.

This one was a longer short story that I'm sure will tie into future stories somewhere. The light dragon is back from a previous story, and she wants to hurt Molly. Angie Baby warns Aunt Jane and battles physical and magical ensue. Within this story we find out more about Angie Baby's magics and powers. These have been hinted at in the past but finally, Jane is forced to take some action before the child hurts herself or others due to her age and immaturity. I liked the way it was handled. Maybe someday Angie Baby will get her own series once she is all grown up.

I love the story of baby Angie ♥ I hope there's a book about her when shes older. She has all of the components of a good story already in her character development. The relationship between Jane and her Goddaughter are what is beautiful and the true definition of a godparent that many of us forget. The narrarator is amazing with the different inflections and story telling. Love this series to bitsa hahaha

This story is related to the short story "Kits". Angie's powers must be bound up until she becomes an adult witch, but her magic is so powerful that she is circumventing her parent's binding spells. Jane Yellowrock gets involved because Angie is her Godchild and for other reasons.

I love Jane Yellowrock and this series. Her relay with Molly Trueheart is a perfect best friend story. This book features Angie, Jane’s godchild, prominently. It’s a sweet, action-packed story. I really enjoyed it. Jane is a true godmother and I love the way Faith Hunter is developing the relationship with Angie.

Absolutely one of my favorite short stories in the series!!!!

Angie-baby and Molly join up with Jane to mend relationship and, of course, fight the good fight. The story line opens up so much more for Angie and Molly- I hope to hear more of their story!!!

I love the way Faith makes you feel a part of her Jane Yellowrock family, and this short sets up things for future books, as well as finding humor and fellow feeling for Molly and Big Evan with Angie Baby. Been there. done that... less the magic!
