I just really wanted to find out what was happening with Tess and Shade. So I started reading as fast as possible.
‘Starbreaker’ starts right where the first book ended. Tess has given Shade a second chance, and the galaxy is still in uproar due to the Dark Watch and the Overseer. Now Tess and Shade are on a new dangerous mission, and they not only have to learn to trust each other again, but also some old friends.
This book is definitely filled with action filled moments, and I loved it. From the first page I was hooked, and I just wanted to keep on reading to find out what was going to happen. Some things about Tess are explained, and some things become even more mysterious. I loved that. This series definitely keeps you guessing.
The romance between Shade and Tess wasn’t as big a part of this book as it was in the first, but I still enjoyed every moment between these two. They have this chemistry that definitely keeps flying of the page and I loved them.
In this second book we also get to know some new characters, and some old characters we get to know better. I loved these new developments. And this book definitely made me want to keep on reading. Tess’s best friend Jax for one is a character I’d love to get to know better.
Although I rarely read Science Fiction, I loved the sci fi elements in this book. There’s so much going on in this galaxy, and still so much unknown. Amanda Bouchet did a great job creating this ‘world’. Book three can’t come fast enough. ...more
I rarely read Sci Fi novels. There just something about space that doesn’t really speaks to me. But since I read two previous books by Amanda Bouchet,I rarely read Sci Fi novels. There just something about space that doesn’t really speaks to me. But since I read two previous books by Amanda Bouchet, and loved them, I found myself intrigued by the Endeavor series. I got the second book through Netgalley, but really wanted to read this first book first.
In ‘Nightchaser’ we meet Tess Bailey, the captain of a small crew and spaceship. Tess and her crew are on the run for a vicious military general. And when the end seems near, there final try to escape succeeds and they end up a long way from home with a battered ship. Here Tess meets Shade Ganavan, a handsome guy who seems to good to be true. He says he can make her ship, and get her all the parts for a good price. Now Tess has to decide fast if Shade can be trusted to help her and her crew out.
‘Nightchaser’ is one of those books that starts right in the middle of things. We start right in a life or death fight between Tess and her crew, and the general who wants to kill them. At first I wondered if I made a mistake, and started in the second book.. But soon I found out that this really was the first book, and things would be explained. I guess I was just to impatient. Luckily for me, I kept on going and I started to enjoy this book more and more.
This book is definitely packed with suspenseful moments, but there are also a lot of moments that made me swoon. Tess and Shade definitely have this intense chemistry between them, and I loved them right from the start. What I loved most was the fact that Tess was this hardcore captain, but only on the outside because she had to be tough. She really wasn’t all that tough at all. And Shade saw that from the start.
I must admit I enjoyed the Sci Fi moments, like the spacewalking, spaceships etc., but I loved the romance between Tess and Shade the most. Funny really. I think this is book the way Amanda Bouchet writes. Her writing makes you want to keep on reading, even if you aren’t a real Sci Fi fan.
This book definitely ended in a bit of a cliffhanger, so I can’t wait to read the next book. Luckily for me, that one is already waiting for me....more

In ‘Dark Retreat’ we meet Megan Wolford and her daughter Caitlin. When Caitlin suddenly becomes very ill, Megan is determined to find her daughter some help. But this isn’t easy in the world she lives in. After traveling for days Megan is exhausted, but refuses to give up. And thankfully soon Megan finds a little cabin in the woods filled with people who are willing to help her out. There Megan meets Wyatt, an ex-navy seal who only wants to care for his family.
I really enjoyed ‘Dark Retreat’ from the moment I started listening to it. It was an easy to follow story, and sometimes things seem to go a little too easy, but it was good and kept me hooked. I loved getting to know the different characters. Megan was just such an amazing and strong mom. I loved her. The romance between her and Wyatt was nice too. A little to predictable to my taste, but it was good.
To be honest, I was kind of surprised when I found out the narrator was a man. Especially when this story seemed to be mostly told from Megan’s point of view. But I soon loved listening to Andrew’s voice so much that I totally forget about my first worries. Andrew really has a talent. His voice kept me hooked and I can’t wait to listen to more audiobooks by him.
Overall ‘Dark Retreat’ is a nice and good to follow story. I definitely love a dystopian story once in a while. And although this one held some problems for me, I mostly just really enjoyed it....more

It’s such a ‘hot’ subject at the moment, I definitely wanted to read what could be written about this subject. Especially in a thriller!
I haven’t been reading a lot of thrillers lately. And it took me a while to get into this story, and not because of any lack of action. Not at all! This book is really action filled, but since I don’t read a lot of thrillers I found I couldn’t concentrate on this book as much as I would have liked. But thankfully, David Barker is a writer that makes his readers want to keep on reading and I kept going.
What I didn’t really expect was the science fiction, futuristic part of this book. I don’t read a lot of sci- fi novels and so it took me a little while to really appreciate the whole ‘set in the future’ part. But in the end I started to enjoy this book more. And the author did a great job with the world building.
The two main characters Jim and Freda where fun to read about. I think they made a fun team and I enjoyed reading about their journey together. Jim was really humoristic at times. And I just enjoyed reading about his character.
Although this book was definitely fun, I just didn’t really love it. And I think it’s mainly because of the genre. I can definitely say I’m not really into the science fiction stories at the moment. And although this book isn’t as sci fi as let’s say ‘Star Wars’, it still just wasn’t something I particularly liked. Since I needed a new audiobook, ‘Beyond’ just seemed to be meant to be listened to.
In ‘Beyond’ we meet Aimee. One day Aimee finds herself being kidnapped. She wakes up weeks later finding herself on a spaceship. The ship is in hands of people who have been forced to leave their planet after an epidemic, and now they are looking for an antidote. Soon Aimee finds out she has been kidnapped accidentally, but they can only return her 5 years from now.
To be completely honest it took me a little while to really get into this book. Somehow I just couldn’t really get into this book as easily as I usual do. After I listened for the second time to the beginning I finally felt like I got it and I began to enjoy the read more.
I really liked Aimee. I loved that she was intelligent and had this kind of ‘nerdy’ feeling about herself. She definitely was a character I could connect with. It did find it a little weird how ‘easily’ she seemed to accept her situation. She wanted to get back home at the beginning, but she definitely sounded a little to accepting if you ask me. Zak was definitely nice to read about, but I just didn’t really ‘love’ him. He just seemed so.. normal. And in the end I still felt like I didn’t really knew him. The romance between Aimee and Zak was really something I did enjoy. Aimee and Zak feel attracted to each other almost right from the beginning and it was fun to read about those two.
The timeline was a little strange. One moment Aimee was waking up, and the next she had been on the ship for months. But it didn’t bother me too much.
The Narrator Emma Lysy did a good job if you ask me. I enjoyed listening to her voice and getting to know the characters through her. After I got used to her voice, I really was able to tell the characters a part due to her different ‘voices’.
Overall I did enjoy this book. I’m beginning to think Sci- Fi isn’t really my thing anymore though. Not because of this book but just in general. I don’t seem to like it as much as I used too. But ‘Beyond’ really is a fun audiobook to listen to. ...more

The fun thing, if you ask me, about dystopian novels is that, although it sometimes really is unimaginable, there’s always a part of you that thinks that a world created in a dystopian novel could be possible. When I read the book description of ‘The Children of Darkness’ that was definitely the feeling I got. So I signed up for the blog tour and couldn’t wait to start reading.
The beginning of ‘The Children of Darkness’ took some getting used too. It was interesting but also a little strange and a little slow. But because I was fascinated with the friendship between Orah, Nathaniel and Thomas, and because I was intrigued by the ‘darkness’ I kept on going and began to enjoy this book more and more with every page. The strange part was definitely the way the people were reciting all these sentences they learned from the moment they could speak. It really gave me the creeps.
‘The Children of Darkness’ definitely is a fun dystopian novel. I really enjoyed getting to know this futuristic world. The author really did a great job with creating this world. I’m especially impressed with the way the author described the vicars. The vicars of the Temple of Light just really freaked me out. They were supposedly the bringers of peace but they are definitely not what they claim to be. I mean they supposedly bring the peace, but when you don’t do what they expect you are being taken to go for a ‘teaching’. Something that changes everyone who’s been there. I was really happy when the main characters were getting suspicious about their way of life. The people definitely needed to find out what the deal was.
The one thing that was a little disappointing about the book was the way it missed a little bit of action. It’s not that this book was bad, but it just that I expected more action when I read the book description. It felt a little mellow at times. And action is also what I kind-of expect when I start reading a dystopian book. But missing a little bit of action definitely did not make me not like this story. Not at all. This book was well thought of, the writing was done really well and the characters were interesting enough to make me want to keep on reading.

Last April I read the first book in the Guardians of Terath series called ‘Seeking Sorrow’. I really loved that book and all the characters in it. So Last April I read the first book in the Guardians of Terath series called ‘Seeking Sorrow’. I really loved that book and all the characters in it. So when Zen DiPietro approached me and asked me if I wanted to read the second book in the Guardians of Terath series called ‘Facing Fortune’, I immediately agreed. It took me a while but soon I was able to start reading.
In ‘Facing Fortune’ we meet the characters Kassimeigh and Arc again. There have been many changes in Terath since the previous book. There has been a strange place filled with mana, which leaves the forest dying. The Guard has been in training to protect the population of harm. And Kassimeigh has lost her purpose in life. To help find Kassimeigh a new purpose, soon Kassimeigh and Arc are busy investigating what is going on, and soon they are finding their way in the new Terath.
Just like with ‘Seeking Sorrow’, ‘Facing Fortune’ immediately pulled me into the world of Terath. I loved reading about all those great characters from the previous book and I especially enjoyed reading about Kassimeigh and Arc. I was a little afraid that I wouldn’t be able to get back into the story since it was already months ago since I read the first book, but thankfully after reading the first chapter everything came back to me. I loved that this book was mainly about Kassimeigh. She was such a powerful female character and I loved her journey towards finding her way in life. Reading about her relationship with Arc only made me love her even more. She was just so strong, honest and brave. I definitely admired her. And the romance between these two characters was just really sweet.
There is a lot happening in ‘Facing Fortune’. The story is exciting and it was hard to put the book down. It was really fun to get into the characters’ lives, especially of those we already knew from the previous book, like Izzy Gin and Will. There are some hints at new romances and I really loved that about this book. The only problem I had with this book was the way I thought a view times the story was finished and then another thing would happen and the story would go on again. I would have already rounded the story up in my head and bam another thing happened. I really didn’t see that coming. I also really felt like I still didn’t have all the answers at the end of the book. But this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. It definitely made me want to start reading the next book ASAP.
‘Facing Fortune’ was another fun, interesting and intriguing read and I really would recommend the Guardians of Terath series to every fantasy lover out there. ...more
I’ve been wanting to read ‘Cinder’ for a very long time. Especially since I heard and read so many great things about this series. But also because I I’ve been wanting to read ‘Cinder’ for a very long time. Especially since I heard and read so many great things about this series. But also because I love Fairy tales, and this book supposedly was a different spin on one of the most well-known fairy tales of all time. Last week I decided to move some things in my reading schedule and finally started reading ‘Cinder’.
Well, where should I start? For one, why on earth did I wait so long to start reading this book? I definitely need to make more time for the books on my TBR because I completely loved this book and should have read it ages ago! From the moment I started reading ‘Cinder’, I couldn’t stop. Yes, this story is a spin on ‘Cinderella’, but it’s also very different. There are cyborgs, many sorts of androids and other kind of robots, and there are people from Lunar, a different planet. Although this book had many similarities to the original fairy tale, it also had a lot of different things in it. And man did I love it!!
Cinder is an amazing character. She is hardworking, kind and very brave. I especially admired how she was able to live with her stepmother and how she found the strength to stand up for herself when things got really tough. What I also really loved was the way this futuristic world seemed so realistic. There were androids talking and Cinder herself was a cyborg, but while reading this book it all definitely sounded like this could be real. And although we all know how this fairy tales goes, this book definitely held some surprises.
And then there was Prince Kai. Sigh.. I loved how normal and kind he was. Yes, he was the Prince, but he never once acted like he was more than Cinder. What I also really enjoyed in this book was the way Cinder and Kai interacted. It was fun and definitely made you want to keep on reading. There was the start of romance.. but the end of this book definitely makes you want to get the next books in this series like yesterday.
I definitely recommend this book. I immediately ordered the next books in this series because I just can’t wait to know what happens next. ...more

The last time he traveled between ‘worlds’, his life changed drastically and ever since that experience Trav tries to be ‘normal’ and forget about these other worlds. But forgetting about it becomes hard when other ‘Trav’s’ come bleeding and dying to his door. When the case of two missing little girls, where Trav has been working on for weeks, seem to involve the different ‘worlds’ and traveling between them, Trav is forced to do everything in his power to save the girls. And that means getting in the middle of the things he tried to forget about.
The thing with The Traveler Chronicles is that this is a book series unlike anything I’ve ever read before. It’s very interesting, intriguing and it definitely keeps you guessing until the very end. I don’t know what it is with Dennis W. Green’s writing, but it keeps you hooked till the very last page. It’s definitely not because this is an easy to read book. The Traveler world is very complicated and definitely needs your complete attention. Especially since there are multiple versions of Trav in this book. I was definitely a little confused at times, but the action, the thrill of the story and the awesome characters definitely made up for this.
The most impressing thing about this book is the way there are multiple versions of the three main characters Trav, Sam, and Morgan, but you’re still able to keep them apart. It’s a little confusing at times but not so much to make you lose the line of the story. And the confusing part actually fits the story since the main character is also confused about all the same looking people. I found this to be a very impressive part about this book.
The Traveler Chronicles definitely is a very interesting book series. I like the cases Trav works on, and combined with the Traveler world this is definitely a book that will not bore you fast. I definitely recommend reading the first book ‘Traveler’ before this one.

When Connie gets offered a job she immediately excepts, not knowing that this job involves working with a view other mathematicians and that it’s a top-secret code-breaking project. One of her new colleagues is Luke Beith. Luke is a very peculiar guy and definitely fascinates Connie. Now they are forced to work on a project they don’t really know the purpose of, and gets more bizarre every day. Only Luke seems to know more.
This was definitely another kind of book, than the books I normally read. This book is fun, a little weird and really intriguing. I really loved how different it was. And most of all I loved that this book was about mathematicians. It was really fascinating, I never read about mathematicians in a book and it was really fun to get to know these characters and get a glimpse into their world. (Yep, from now on if I hear about a mathematician I will think about this book!!)
The best part about this book were the main character Connie and her colleagues Arnold, Ranjit, Evelyn, Se and Luke. They were all very different but it was so much fun to get know these characters. I really think the author did an amazing job with making them so likable. The fact that they were working on this secret project made this read even more fun. It definitely kept you guessing.

On her journey she learns about ‘The Trail’, an futuristic energy bridge across the Arabian sea. While Meena is fleeing she slowly finds out more about her past, and her past is not so ‘fun’ to remember. We also meet Mariama, a west African girl who’s also escaping her past by traveling to another country. The story alternates between these two characters, but we soon find out that there is more to their story than we first expected.
The thing that immediately came to mind when I began writing this review, was that this book was written in a very interesting way. Because of this it was not an easy book to read, there were a lot of different names to get to know, there was some talk about modern technology which I had some difficulty following in the beginning of the book and the characters are all a little ‘weird’ in the sense that it took me some time to figure out what there deal was. But if you keep on reading, this book is definitely worth your time. It’s interesting, unlike anything I’ve read before and very fascinating.
There is a lot of mystery in this book. And not a lot is revealed in the beginning. Slowly on some mysteries are resolved and I really admire Monica Byrne for the way she wrote this book. This story is more intense than I originally thought, and it’s even hard to read at times. But I’m so glad I kept going because this is a book that stays with you.
To be honest, this book is not really my ‘normal’ kind of read. But I did enjoy it, especially since it was a little out of my comfort zone. So I give it 3 stars because I really did like it, but it did take me a long time to really ‘get’ the story. ...more

In ‘Tracer’ we meet Riley Hale, Oren Darnell and Prakesh Kumar. Three very different characters who all life on the spaceship called ‘Outer Earth’. When Earth was destroyed years ago, some people created ‘Outer Earth’ a spaceship with all the necessities for humans to survive. But ‘Outer Earth’ wasn’t designed to exist so long, and not with so many people on it. Now, someone on the spaceship is trying to unleash complete and other chaos.
This book was definitely different than the other books I read lately. But not in a bad way. This book is exciting and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Although there are some ‘slow’ parts in this book, this book mostly makes you want to keep on reading. The author created a very interesting and different world. The way the author described the setting on the spaceship and the conditions the people lived in, that was definitely interesting. For example the way people like Riley, had to look out all the time for ‘gang’ people who wanted to steel the packages she needed to deliver.
‘Tracer’ is written through the three main characters point of views. I really enjoyed that. Especially since those three characters are all very different. It definitely made this book even more fascinating to read. The character I loved the most was Riley. From the very beginning I just really liked her character. I loved how strong she was and how she did her job as a tracer.
This book is a must read if your into Sci- fi and dystopian novels. It definitely was a fun read for me. ...more

Now Trav needs to find the killer and stop him before the whole world changes forever.
This book is definitely different than the last couple of books I’ve read. This is a book that really needs all your attention. You can’t read ‘Traveler’ when you’re going to be distracted or only have a short time to read, because this book is a little complicated at times, and definitely needs your full attention. Especially in the beginning, it took me sometime to fully understand everything what was going on. But when I did, I didn’t want to stop reading and was fascinated by the world Dennis W. Green created.
I really enjoyed this book. It was so different and interesting and although it gets a little complicated I could still keep up. The main character Trav was a guy I could relate to. Especially since the most things that happened in his life were things he couldn’t control. There were sci- fi elements in this book, but it was very mild. And I loved that about this book. You know you’re reading a sci- fi book but it still kind of felt like it could really happen and it made this book an even more interesting book to me.
The end of this book was a big surprise for me. I didn’t expect it at all and I loved that. The author was able to completely steer my mind to only one possibility and I forget about the other possibilities. At the end of this book I was so surprised how Dennis W. Green was able to control my thinking with his writing. Not to mention the way he described a very complicated process as something I could understand without too much difficulty. For example the way he described the traveling to different realities part, I can only say bravo to that!!

This book starts immediately without a prologue or an introduction and I really felt like I was kind of stupid because I felt like I was missing things. Throughout the first few chapters, I kept feeling like I missed some important information and it was a little too slow for me. Fortunately for me, this book became more interesting, easier to read and I felt myself being more and more intrigued how farther I got.
Half way through this book I became hooked to the story. I loved the post-apocalyptic background and the way the characters came to life for me. The world of Lumin became more real and I couldn’t stop reading because I just had to know what would happen next. I also really liked the character Mia, the way she coped with things and how she interacted with people.
Although this book had a very slow start I really did like it. So how will I rate this book? The beginning didn’t work for me and I honestly think it will make some readers stop reading.. But I would recommend to keep on reading because I promise this book will get better and you won’t regret reading it. It’s definitely a four star read for me. ...more

In ‘The Burned Bridges Protocol’ there is no slow intro into the story. Right from the very first page this story is intriguing and interesting. The action begins right away and I felt myself wanting to keep reading. The writing style in this book is very interesting, not like any other book I’ve read before. One minute your reading a conversation between the two main characters, and next your reading through the eyes of an intelligent computer/ life pod.
The story is fast paced and there is a lot happening and it’s definitely very interesting to read.
The one downfall in this book for me where the names. For example the main character Lillian is also called Anne. Not very confusing but then there is Chloe and she’s also called the Maiden. That was just a little confusing for me because this book moves so fast and it took me a little while to remember what name belonged to which character. And all the other characters also have other names.
Still, this book is very interesting and definitely worth your time. Especially when you like Sci- Fi stories. This book makes me want to keep an eye out on Abigail Borders writing. ...more

Deanna is the step- daughter of one of the cruelest rulers of their time Lourdessa, the Alcalde of Nue Bayona. Although Deanna tries to stay clear of her step mother as much as possible she slowly starts to learn more and more about Lourdessa’s evil business. But after Deanna’s best friend Zander has been taking in to custody for something he isn’t a part of, Deanne tries to change her step mothers mind. Unfortunately that decision only makes things worse.
I honestly most say that I feel many different things about this book. For one, I didn’t quite get the beginning of this book. For me the beginning felt a little like a different story and I honestly could have enjoyed the book just as much without it. But the beginning also learns us some important stuff for the rest of the book. So I probably wouldn’t get the book without it, but still.. I found it a little strange to read about a character for a couple of chapters and then learn that he isn’t the main character at all. But after the second part of this book began and we meet Deanne, I felt myself enjoying this book more and more. Leslie Ann Moore was able to describe a very interesting world and a very strong and likeable female character. I loved how Deanne was just a little naïve in the beginning but slowly became this strong girl. I loved those weird creatures who floated in the air. It was very original!
The best part of this book for me is the way you just want to keep reading and find out what will happen next. There is nothing predictable about this book. I would find myself thinking about what would probably be coming next and I was wrong a lot of times. I really loved that.
Although this book didn’t WOW me, I did enjoy it and was amazed by the authors gift in describing everything in detail. The world of Nuetierra became real to me and I would definitely recommend this book to other readers out there. ...more

But the book description sounded very interesting so when I got the opportunity to read this book through CBB Book Promotions I immediately signed up.
‘Billy Bobble Makes a Magic Wand’ is from the very beginning a very interesting book. This book just doesn’t get boring. Billy Bobble is a twelve year old extremely smart kid. Together with his best friend Suzy Quinofski, who’s also extremely smart they try to survive High School the best way they can. For these smart kids this means they develop a magic wand. And what kind of wand? This wand changes Billy and Suzy’s life forever.
From the very first page this book grabs you attention. There is a lot of stuff happening and I just didn’t want to stop reading. I loved how R.S. Mellette wrote this amazing book about magic wands but also about more serious stuff, like bullying and parenting. The two main characters Billy and Suzy are easy to love, and I just wanted to get inside this story and help them out.
This book is a perfect read for kids but I definitely would also recommend it for adults. It’s a fun book about friendship and finding ways to survive High School. I loved Billy and Suzy and especially the way they interacted with each other in their own smart-intellectual way. Even though I didn’t understand all the stuff about quantum physics, this didn’t bother me at all. I enjoyed reading about how these smart kids thought.
This book is very adventuress and definitely makes you want to read more about Billy Bobble. It was an easy to read book and the writer definitely makes sure you can’t stop reading. Great job, R.S. Mellette!...more
My first thoughts about this book after finishing it late last night was that I definitely liked Ivan Amberlake’s writing. It was easy to read and from the first page on I really wanted to know what was happening. This book doesn’t have a slow start and immediately after you start reading you’re in the middle of the action. Although this book seemed to have all the things I would love in a book I somehow couldn’t really connect with this one. In ‘The Beholder’ Jason is experiencing a lot of strange things and he learns about a totally new world. Unfortunately I found it really hard to understand what was happening all the time. Jason didn’t understand what was happening in the book and I also really didn’t understand all the time.
Still, I kept trying because I really wanted to enjoy this book. I loved the friendship between Jason, Matt and Debbie and how protective they were with each other. But sadly I really couldn’t follow the rest of what happened in this book. There is a lot of talk of different kind of energies and I just didn’t really feel it. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t like it at all. Like I said before, I really enjoyed the writing I just didn’t feel ‘connected’ to this book and the characters. A couple of weeks ago I received two books by Aubrie Dionne, ‘Paradise 21’ and ‘Colonization’. I finished reading ‘Paradise 21’ a view weeks ago. It wA couple of weeks ago I received two books by Aubrie Dionne, ‘Paradise 21’ and ‘Colonization’. I finished reading ‘Paradise 21’ a view weeks ago. It was my first Science Fiction book and I loved it. So this week I decided to start in ‘Colonization’. This book is the first in the ‘Paradise Reclaimed’ series and it takes place in the same world as the ‘New Dawn’ series only a couple of hundred years later.
In ‘Colonization’ we meet seventeen year old Andromeda, AKA Annie. Annie is the Great granddaughter of Commander Barliss. Commander Barliss we have met in ‘Paradise 21’. Now, many years later, Annie is part of the colony of the New Dawn and the ship is ready to land on their new planet: Paradise 21. Even though this is a huge happening, Annie isn’t looking forward to it. She loves her home and she is terrified of all the changes that will happen when they land. But that’s not the only thing that scares Annie. Annie has taken the aptitude test to determine her new ‘job’ and her new life mate. Annie was hoping her new life mate would be her childhood friend Sirius, but unfortunately the computer decided different. Her new assigned life mate is Corvus Holmes and Annie really doesn’t like him. Torn and sad of this new development Annie is anything but happy when they land on Paradise 21, but soon there is more to worry about than life mate assignments. The new planet Paradise 21 has a couple surprises ready for the new colony.
Although I really liked the book ‘Paradise 21’ I must say I totally loved ‘Colonization’. From the very first page I was really intrigued by the characters and I really wanted to know what would happen next. I really enjoyed Annie’s character. I liked how she didn’t immediately ‘love’ their new home. She was a little skeptical of this new planet and I really understood that feeling. I loved that there was a little ghost-thing going on in this book as well. It made this story even more interesting. The other character I really liked was Corvus. I loved how he was nobody in the beginning of this book and how he fought to get Annie’s attention and grew into a important character.
There isn’t really a thing I didn’t like about this story. I liked the way this story continued in the world that Aubrie Dionne created in the ‘New Dawn’ series and how these new characters finished the quest that was made hundreds of years ago. I would definitely recommend this story to every Science Fiction lover out there. ...more

Aries lives on a spaceship called ‘New Dawn’. On the ‘New Dawn’ everything is planned for you. Your future job, your life mate etc. Nobody gets a say in anything. The main reason for this is to conceive the perfect colony for ‘Paradise 21’, a planet like ‘Earth’ before man destroyed it. The ‘New Dawn’ plans on arriving at ‘Paradise 21’ over a hundred years or so. But Aries doesn’t find happiness in having no choices. Especially since her life mate is planned to be Barliss. A lieutenant who does everything for status and power. When Aries escapes to another planet to escape her life without choices, she lands on a planet full with unknown dangers. But soon Aries finds out that there is more on this deserted planet than dangers, there is also Striker. Striker is a handsome guy who’s been left on this planet by his own crew five years ago. Striker is an angry and bitter guy. When Striker finds Aries he is overwhelmed by happiness to find another human being after being alone for five years. But soon danger finds Striker and Aries again.
This is the first Science Fiction book I have read and I must say I was really surprised. I was afraid that I wouldn’t like all the spaceships, the strange creatures and all the different planets. But to be honest I really enjoyed this story. Its opening a whole new world in books for me. I really enjoyed the space traveling and the kind of dangers this entailed. I loved the ‘lizard men’ and the way the people on ‘New Dawn’ found ways to make trees and fruit.
The only thing I found a little disappointing sometimes was how fast the ‘love story’ was going. It moved a little too fast for me. I think this story would be perfect if there was a little more time for the ‘love’ part. But still, I really enjoyed this book. I really liked Strikers character. I loved the way he wanted to change everything and how he fought to get a better life, not only for him, but for all people.
I loved the way ‘Paradise 21’ introduced me to the Science Fiction genre and I’m looking forward to reading more books from Aubrie Dionne. ...more
