Les deux personnages parlent comme des figurines animées par quelqu'un n'ayant jamais eu de discussion avec un autre être humain. Il n'y a aucun naturel dans ces dialogues. Ça enlève tout réalisme aux personnages et donc crédibilité à leur relation (ou même existence). Elle aurait pu être touchante, mais à force, elle en devient ridicule vu le comportement et les échanges de Perso A et Perso B (oui, je n'ai même pas retenu leurs noms et de toute façon, à mes yeux, ils n'ont aucune réelle identité).

Archie et Fox sont beaucoup trop immatures pour moi. Ça gâche totalement mon immersion dans leur relation et détruit chaque moment où j'ai l'impression de dépasser la surface des choses. Ils se comportent comme des enfants, ça en devient ridicule et redondant. En plus, Archie s'efface sous l'imposant égo de Fox, ce qui fait que je perds le peu que je voyais de lui et au lieu d'apprendre à le connaître, j'ai le sentiment de le voir se dissoudre pour n'être plus qu'un "personnage".
Les dynamiques dans lesquelles les deux personnages ne s'entendent pas au début et se lancent des pics une bonne partie de l'histoire, j'adore ça et les bonnes réparties sont selon moi jouissives, mais dans ce roman, je n'ai pas l'impression de faire face à deux adultes dans ce type de situation. Mais comme on m'a dit que cette histoire était très courte et mignonne et que je me suis donné comme objectif d'essayer une ou deux histoires avec un oméga en protagoniste, je me suis lancée. Mais je pense que pour quelqu'un qui n'est pas fan comme moi, ce n'est pas la meilleure histoire pour donner éventuellement tort à ses préférences de base. C'est très très court et mignon (je suppose), mais pour ma part, j'ai trouvé ça un peu "sans intérêt". Il n'y a pas de développement vu la longueur et donc impossible de s'attacher ou de réellement s'intéresser aux personnages. Même le message du coup perd en profondeur. Je pense que si ça avait été une histoire plus longue, avec un univers, des personnages et des relations développés, j'aurais sûrement bien plus accroché. Je viens de finir cette histoire et je suis dans ce mood familier aux lectrices/lecteurs "Qu'est-ce que je vais faire de ma vie maintenant ?". Pendant une semaine, je n'ai pensé qu'à retrouver tous ces personnages géniaux dès que je m'éloignais du livre, que ce soit quand je travaillais, j'essayais de dormir, étais à la piscine ou en voiture. Ils vont vraiment me manquer.
Wujiu a capturé mon attention dès la première scène et j'ai eu un véritable coup de cœur pour lui. J'ai souffert avec lui et eu mal pour lui. Il a vécu énormément de choses atroces et tout ce que je voulais, c'est qu'il ait enfin la paix et puisse connaître la sécurité et l'amour. Sa force, son courage et son empathie m'ont séduite, ainsi que son côté sombre. Et impossible de parler de Wujiu sans parler du tout aussi formidable Shen Ti. C'est totalement le genre de personnage pour lequel je craque toujours, mais là, avec Shen Ti, la barre a été mise très très haut. Il est juste incroyable. Sa personnalité, son lien avec Wujiu, ses origines, leur relation adorable, saine et dans un sens, épique, m'ont apporté des feels que je n'avais pas ressentis depuis longtemps. Depuis "Kaléidoscope of death" précisément.
Le pairing principal est génial, mais les personnages secondaires et les couples secondaires le sont tout autant. Je suis attaché à toute la bande ou plutôt à la famille de Wujiu et j'ai tremblé pour chacun et chacune tout le long. Tous les personnages sont bien écrits, intéressants et attachants. Leurs dynamiques sont touchantes, hilarantes et sincères, un point important, même primordial, de l'histoire.
J'ai aussi beaucoup apprécié l'aventure en elle-même, le côté technologie et le côté religieux, ainsi que le lien entre les deux dans l'intrigue.
En fait, si le mot jouissif m'est venu si facilement, c'est parce que dès le départ j'ai eu l'impression que cette histoire avait été écrite pour moi, que ce soit la personnalité de Wujiu, celle de Shen Ti, leur rencontre, leur lien, leur dynamique, leurs moments, les différentes missions, les autres personnages, etc. J'ai eu tout ce que j'aime et même adore, j'ai profité de chaque instant à fond. Xi Jia est un personnage que j'ai vraiment adoré suivre et pour la première fois de ma vie, c'est un Gong qui est devenu mon chaton à protéger du monde ; Ye Jingzhi est juste tellement pur et adorable, que c'est impossible de ne pas totalement craquer.
J'ai réellement aimé cette vision drôle et WTF des grands maîtres célestes, qui ne sont que des vieux losers accros aux potins et aux "points". C'est là que le titre prend tout son sens ^^.

Je m'attendais à une petite romance légère et sans prise de tête, et au final, ça n'a pas du tout été ça. Mais je ne m'en plains absolument pas. Accompagner Ari (aux côtés de Dante et de leurs familles respectives) dans cette période compliquée qu'est l'adolescence a été touchant et agréable. Je n'ai pas envie d'utiliser le terme immature, mais faute de mieux, je vais le faire. La bande de copains aussi est "beaucoup trop" pour moi. Oui, il existe des gens comme ça dans ma vraie vie, mais je préfère les choses un peu plus subtiles et nuancées dans mes lectures. En tout cas, là, ajouté à tout le reste, ça faisait trop puéril et cliché.
