Riko was definitely a brat through much of the story- we really didn't need Braxton calling him that over and over, to be reminded of that fact. But just because someone is being bratty doesn't mean a nurse should be administering drugs just to calm them down. I really had a hard time with that part, as well as how demanding and unprofessional she was with Braxton, when she called him about Riko.
Riko needed to do a lot of growing up, it was hard to believe he was 25. I guess being coddled and given everything you wanted in life would have that effect on a person. It was good to see him take control of his life and finally make good choices and decisions. His parents seemed to have started out with good intentions, the whole cutting the apron strings and letting him have one last summer before he needed to buckle down and get serious, but then things kind of went off the rails with his father, which didn't make much sense.
The romance between Riko and Braxton actually made sense- Riko needed someone like Braxton to take charge. Like all stories in the All American Boy Series, it was a definite case of instalust/love, but it worked.
Definitely take heed of the following warning- This story includes scenes involving homophobia and animal welfare that, while done in a caring and thoughtful manner, may be disturbing to some people. Reader discretion is advised....more

Kendall and Savy deserved all the love and happiness and I'm so glad they, okay Savy, barreled into Jeremy. Kendall is such a wonderful father to Savy, they are the sweetest twosome! Kendall never expected to find love while on vacation, but sometimes the unexpected can lead to something amazing, and that's exactly what happened for Kendall, Savy, and Jeremy. I wish the epilogue had taken place farther into the future- I wanted to see Savy captaining her own boat! I really loved the premise of Sailor Boy and thankfully it lived up to my hopes and expectations, for the most part. There were a few little things that bothered me, but not enough to round down to 3*.
This is the second book I've read this year with a brother adopting his sister's child because she was a drug addict. Both had meddling parents who made me angry, but Kendall's mother was the worst! ...more

I love when an author is able to make me want to escape into their world and B.L. Maxwell did just that with this book. I have a feeling after reading more books in this series I'll be booking a vacation for myself! Billie didn't hesitate to jump right in and help Lance with his food truck, just minutes after arriving in the small town of Stony Brook, Me. Which led to the two of them really bonding over their shared interests in the food service industry, which then of course led to more! It was interesting to see how their lives paralleled more than either of them knew. I really enjoyed the connection between Billie and Lance. Excellent enemies-to-lovers romance! Hostile Takeover was a really excellent friends-ish-to-enemies-to-lovers romance. You definitely felt the disdain Grey had for Ellison and his family, after what happened in college. I enjoyed the evolution of their relationship, once they reconnected thanks to Grey's takeover of Ellison's family's business.
I was really happy to see that Teddy Hamilton and Sean Crisden were the narrators for this book. To be honest, while I think Michael Dean is a fine narrator, I probably would have just read this book instead of listening to it, if he was the narrator. Teddy and Sean both did a terrific job with their performances. Sean's Grey had that definite chip on his shoulder and Teddy always brings such a wonderful vulnerability to his characters....more

Terrific narration! 3.5*
I haven't read or listened to any of the other books in the Cerberus MC series, but when this one was included in one of Audible's sales I had to jump on it because it's performed by 2 of my favorite narrators, Aaron Shedlock and Alexander Cendense! I loved getting to hear them in the same book- I'm not sure if they've narrated together before, I'll have to look into that. I really enjoyed their performances. I'm not sure if I would have enjoyed the book, or would have even grabbed it, if it wasn't for them. I don't necessarily think you need to read any of the other books in this series before reading this one, you kind of get an overview of them all in Snatch- it almost seemed like the culmination of the series, until that ending! I liked that this motorcycle club wasn't involved in anything dark and depraved, they're more like vigilantes for the good guys. I may have to go back and read some of the other books in the series.
I didn't love all the on page stuff with Darby, but I guess it was necessary to show the evolution of feelings between Snatch and Itchy. (Lord, those nicknames!) I wish more time had been spent with them one on one, but maybe that's what I'm missing, having not read the previous books. The jumps in time didn't help, either. But I did enjoy seeing these best friends realize there was more to their feelings than just friendship. I did feel bad for Itchy, not wanting to hide their relationship from their friends, but I also understood how Snatch felt- what a conundrum! Back to the epilogue- kind of surprising, after them both being so adamant about a certain thing. And that blast from the past- I may just have to read the next book....more

This was a cute, fun little read. I liked the dynamic between the characters, with Adam, the younger mc, being the take-charge type, and Ray, the older mc, being a little lost and anxious, needing the strength from Adam. I really liked Ray a lot. It was a little weird (ick?) that Adam was the one Ray's ex cheated on him with, but luckily that happened off page, prior to the book even starting. Otherwise I think it would have definitely been a major turn off....more

Sweet quickie. Hay was a sweet read. It's been awhile since I read any of the Made Marian books, honestly I've only read the first 2 or 3, but now I want to go back and read them all, just so I can meet Hay. Although from the sounds if it, I'd be really sad for him, as he kept getting left behind. So I'm really glad he finally gets his own happily ever after. It was a definite case of insta-lust when Hay shows up to interview Christian, but then it turned into something more, and I was here for it! I liked these 2 together, they were just what each other needed.

A quickie! Jason Clark was a great choice to voice Chris! He's got that gruffness that fits my image of Chris, but also a sweetness to him as well. I originally read this story 6 years ago and now I want to go back and redo the whole series! Here's my review from first read- A quick glimpse into what is sure to be some really tough times coming for Hayden. Quick look into the beginning of Chris and Sarah. Wow, it's been almost 6 years since I first read this novella, can't believe it's been that long! The Clipped Wings series is probably my favorite series from Helena, although it's pretty close to a tie with the Pucked series!
I think both Jason and Rose were great choices for these characters. Jason has the gruffness to his voice that worked well with how I picture Chris's character. And I really enjoyed Rose's performance of Sarah- she sounded age appropriate, which is I find isn't always the case with so many female narrators. My only "issue" with the narration- I didn't love her male voice, but that could just be me!
Here's my review from when I first read this story-
A quick, angsty look into the beginning of what I hope will be a happy relationship for Chris and Sarah. I loved seeing the vulnerability of Chris is this story- we didn't see that side of him in the previous books and novellas. But there was still the humor we'd expect from him as well. Even though this was such a quick read I feel like we got a little deeper look into the friendship between Chris, Hayden, and Jamie- they are lucky to have each other.
And I really enjoyed the glimpse of Hayden and his quirks from a different point of view- it's nice to see him getting a handle on things, although part of what makes him so loveable are his quirks! ...more

Andy is adorable. I originally read this back in 2017, here's my review: So adorably sweet I can't even handle it! Andy is a DOLL! And I loved seeing Katie's thought process as she realizes things she thought were important really aren't. These 2 are just right for each other.
As far as the audiobook, the narration was good- I'd probably put it at a 3.5*. I enjoy both these narrators but I don't think this is their best work. Granted the audiobook is almost 6 years old, they've both improved over time. I really like Nick, he pushed it up the .5* for me. Saskia has a really nice voice and I think her male voice is very good, I just thought she sounded too old for a college freshman. So sweet! Even though I read this not even 2 months ago, I had to do a reread and listen to the audiobook, because hello- Aaron Shedlock! I'd listen to that man read the White Pages, his grocery list, the back of a cereal box. He and Kirt Graves were wonderful as Clay and Syrus, I need more!
My review from my first read- Ahh, this novella was the sweetest! Syrus and Clay are both adorable and I loved them. They're each a little vulnerable in their own ways and I just wanted to hug and love on them both. Loved the idea of the author and the narrator developing a relationship. This book punched me right in the fucking feels. I loved that it was equal parts romance, between Luke and Landon, and father/son bonding, between Luke and Emmet. I have to admit, I was actually a little more invested in Luke and Emmet working things out than I was in the romance! I loved all aspects of the story, but my heart ached, and when I say it ached, I mean it ached for Luke when it came to things with his son. I wanted them to repair their relationship so badly, I hurt for them both. It was a slow process, but when things came to a head, it was cathartic and so needed, for both of them. And for me. The love story between Luke and Landon was so sweetly endearing. They both had it tough getting to where they were and deserved all the happiness. What started as a much needed friendship soon evolved into such a lovely romance. I adore the little family they made- Luke, Landon, Emmet, and Bowen. ...more
