But with the way this series was written it really doesn't matter the order you read them, luckily! I'm actually kind of glad I read Matt and Annika's story last- seeing glimpses of them in the other 2 books just made me all the more anxious to learn just what in the heck was going on with these two! Lots of back and forth, push and pull between Matt and Anni. Their first meeting seemed to be going so well, but then bam- we're in the present day and all they do is argue and fight and they can barely stand to be in the same room as the other. What in the heck happened that night?!? Even after they figure out there was more to what happened that one night than either of them knew, and they are finally able to get past the hurt, anger, and repercussions, things still weren't smooth sailing for them. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Anni and Matt. They definitely knew how to push each other's buttons and it was highly entertaining. They were so good for each other, but it took awhile, at least for Anni, to come to an acceptance of that realization. I loved this final look, at least for me, at this group of friends!

Although I shouldn’t be, considering it was written by Melanie Harlow. I’m pretty sure I’d read just about anything she wrote, even tropes I wouldn’t normally seek out.
Mabel and Joe are both terrific characters- separately, as friends, and even better as a couple. Their banter, and the back-and-forth teasing, was so fun to read. And the hockey puns- utter perfection Ms. Harlow! I really enjoyed seeing their relationship progression, from that fateful one-night-stand to their happily ever after. These two were adorable together, so hot and sweet, and had me smiling a whole lot while reading.
Mabel is a such a sweet, relatable character and I loved her little quirks and word vomit. Joe is pretty darn wonderful. I liked how he didn’t hesitate to support Mabel, even though the pregnancy threw him for a complete loop. I particularly enjoyed seeing how his feelings changed over the course of the book.
If the unexpected pregnancy storyline is your trope d'jour, I highly recommend Slap Shot Surprise! While it’s book 5 in the Cherry Tree Harbor series, of any of the books in the series, this one could probably be read as a standalone. Although why you’d want to skip over the Buckley men, I have no idea! ...more

So sweet. Mikey is just a precious sweetie and deserves all the happiness. His father is a complete sob and deserves to rot. I really liked Mikey and Tiller's relationship, from boss/employee, to friends, to friends/lovers, to so much more. I enjoyed the progression of their relationship and seeing how their feelings changed and grew.

Short and sweet. This was a short and sweet introduction to the Aster Valley series. Considering Gentry is a rockstar based out of LA I was curious as to how this story would lead into a series set in CO, but everything came clear at the end. Winter was such a sweetie. I likes the moment he had with Gent at the concert. Theirs was a bit of an insta-love connection, but they were good for each other. I admit Gentry's moment at the hotel was kind of a red flag for me, but I put it down to frustration and tried not to let it color my idea of him. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.
The narration was fine. Michael Dean is a solid narrator.

Not that I don't love her adult/more mature characters as well, but there's just something about her college kids that do something for me. And Austin and Dex are just another example of that.
This was a really sweet friends to lovers story. These two are opposites in every way. Austin is shy and unassuming, a true romantic at heart, while Dex is charming and outgoing, and prefers hooking up instead of settling down. Things between them have always been platonic, neither ever having an inkling of feelings for the other, outside of friendship. But when Austin requests Dex's help to gain a little confidence, everything changes.
I really enjoyed having a front row seat to these guys falling in love. I loved that there wasn't a whole lot of angst and drama to their story, and how they were set on letting nothing ruin their friendship. Dex was so protective and caring of Austin, it just made my heart so happy....more

Prince of Poison was such a fun read, but I'd expect nothing less from Alice! I was entertained Callisto must be protected at all costs. At.All.Costs.
Prince of Poison was such a fun read, but I'd expect nothing less from Alice! I was entertained from start to finish. Callisto is so precious, I love him. He's so sweet and charming, and just an all around delight. Silas is pretty awesome, too. He's funny- in that stoic, not trying to be funny but funny anyway, way. I enjoyed their banter and the back and forth between them.
This story was engaging and funny and silly, yet it had some really heartfelt moments. And let's be honest, it wouldn't be an Alice Winters's book if it didn't have some of the most ridiculous in the best way possible moments as well. Papa, that's all I'm going to say. And as usual, the cast of side characters were almost as delightful as Callisto and Silas, and had me laughing out loud.
I really enjoyed this world. Since it's part of a multi-author series I don't know if it's possible that Alice would write more books about this group, but I sure wouldn't be opposed! The good thing, though, is this was a complete story arc, so there's nothing left lingering, in case this is the last we see of them.
I haven't looked into the rest of the books in this series, so I wonder if there are crossovers, or if the location/kingdoms are the same throughout, or if it's just the coin that connects them all... hmmm. ...more

The Love Shack is a sweet addition to the Indiana Summer series. It's definitely cemented my desire to live in a small town- bring on the meddling, nosy townspeople!
Berkley and Lawson both end up in Cemetery, IN by chance, each wanting to put their pasts behind them. While Berkley is leery to find someone from her childhood neighborhood now living in the same town she is, worried that her past will come to light and taint her new life, Lawson is the last person she needs to worry about. He's sweet and caring, and will surprise her in the best way.
I do wish Berkley's past had been gone into with a little more depth. Although we know the particulars of what happened, it almost seemed like we just skimmed the surface, if that makes sense. Especially with what happened towards the end- I needed more of a reason for why, considering how much time had past. I know I'm being kind of vague, I don't want to really give certain things away.
While Berkley and Lawson are finding their way to each other, so are Lark and Oliver. They both have some heaviness in their pasts, and are in Cemetery to heal as well. One of the best things about this series is the found family feel, and these four, along with Hero, Cheese, and Handsome, are the perfect example....more

Perfect narrator pairing! My first book by Kim Loraine and I picked it up solely on the basis of the 2 male narrators, who happen to be one of my favorite duos! Aaron Shedlock and Teddy Hamilton can do no wrong, at least when it comes to my ears. This was a sweet second chance romance- Sam and Tucker were meant to be. This is the fifth book in the Sunrise Cowboys series, and although you definitely know you're missing things from the previous books, I feel like there's no issue reading this as a standalone. I did fall in love with the Ryker family so maybe one day I'll go back and read the rest of the series....more

Didn't quite get there. This had some good potential, but just didn't quite get there for me. I never really connected with either character. Chelsea was pretty immature throughout the entire book, and her friends were not great. Tara had a compelling story, due to her childhood. There was part of the story that was pretty predictable, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I was just never fully all-in with this book, even though I kind of enjoyed the romance between Chelsea and Tara. There were some good scenes with them, but not enough to make this one stand out....more

On ode to dogs. Hideaway felt more like an ode to dogs than a romance between humans. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but it got to be a bit much. This could have been a really great second chance romance, as Phoebe and Taylor had a lot of history as children/teens, except they were both kind of irritating in their own ways. It wasn't very memorable, other than how much dogs played a part in the story. The narrators were fine....more

Anna very much reminded me of myself, in certain respects- I related to her a lot. At first I thought Owen was going to be a hard ass, but he was actually far from it. He's so sweet and caring, and very considerate. Yes, he wanted to find his aunt's treasures, but not at Anna's expense- he definitely took her feelings into consideration and I really appreciated that.
The Summer Escape was an engaging and heartfelt story. And it was fun, too, thanks in part to Wendy! I loved the relationship between Anna and her, but that is one thing I couldn't relate to- if only my sister and I were that close. Even though they had their moments, you could feel the love they had for each other.
I enjoyed the mystery/suspense aspect of the story- who doesn't like a good heist! I liked how everything played out in the end, and I loved the epilogue! All in all a very nice addition to the Sunset Cover series, and one that can be read as a standalone for sure....more

I'm really trying to not let the narration color my feelings on the story itself, but it's hard. I don't say this to be mean, but the narrator did not do this book any favors, sadly. He sounded too old for these characters and made Lucas sound like a big bumbling idiot. I have the rest of the series in audio but I think I'm going to have to switch to the ebook, I don't think I could handle hours of listening to his voicing of Trevor.
There was a lot of back and forth between Cody and Lucas, which was understandable given their differences. And sometimes Cody got on my nerves with the way he treated Lucas, who was a little too precious for words. But overall the story was entertaining, and I enjoyed the ending and epilogue....more

Luna and Jameson's story was very engaging, as are all the books in this series. I love the small town aspect of Sunrise Cove and the found family Luna and her friends have created for themselves at Apple Ridge Farm! Makes me wish I was a part of it, if I'm being honest. That's one of my favorite things about Ms. Shalvis's writing- she brings the reader into the story and you feel like you're right there with the characters.
Luna's busy running Apple Ridge Farm when her world is thrown into a tailspin after the owner, Silas, passes away and she discovers some long held secrets. Jameson's arrival in town, at the bequest of Silas, only adds to the upheaval. Before she knows it, Luna finds herself falling in love while trying not to fall apart.
I really enjoyed The Bright Spot. It had everything I've come to love from Ms. Shalvis- a wonderful found family, a swoon worthy male lead, a strong yet vulnerable female lead, and some of the cutest animals you can imagine! ...more
