I didn't find the Gamestop thing interesting when it was happening and I didn't find it interesting in this book. Should I be interested in how the stock market works? Sure. And maybe I should be interested in the underdogs chronicled in this book. But I wasn't. I literally could not make myself understand and get into this book.
I hope I like the movie better.
I must quote this.
"Keith Gill, thirty-four, with high cheekbones, piercing brown-hazel eyes, and a magnificent mane of shoulder-length hair that perhaps tended toward mullet when you saw it from the side, stood in the frozen grass of his postcard-sized lawn, straining his arms to lift his two-year-old daughter onto the top of the plastic slide that squatted in the shadow of his three-bedroom home." I knew by page 6 that I would not be able to spend 500 pages with John Bolton, so I only skim-reviewed The Room Where It Happened. The author is such an arrogant schmuck I just want to slap him.
If you don't like his borrowing a line from Hamilton for the title, you won't like page 484 either, where he says he didn't answer reporter questions or testify in the impeachment trial because he was not throwing away his shot.

If you are really a science/NASA/space/history geek, you may enjoy carefully reading all 648 pages. For me, it was too detailed. Neil Armstrong isn't even born until chapter 3! I hope the movie is a little more active. :)...more
