I read this cute little book to my 5-year-old niece who really reminds me of the little bear in this story, she always seems to get extra hyper right before bedtime and always wants a snack... or two... or three lol. This is a book both children and parents will enjoy, it's the perfect bedtime story. The illustrations are beautiful and colorful and very adorable. I do have to say though that our favorite part was whats at the back of the book, it's full of fun facts about hibernating bears, facts on other animals that hibernate too like a Yellow-Bellied Marmot, a Chipmunk, a Snapping Turtle, and a Garter Snake. It also has a little four-question quiz for the child to take to determine if they'd be able to hibernate themselves. Recommend :) ...more

Oh, this book is so adorable! Really it's the perfect bedtime story. One that your little ones will just love, they will love the bright, bold, funny and so cute illustrations and seeing all of the different things each dinosaur does before going to bed. As well as learn the names of some of their most favorite dinosaurs. I seriously recommend this one!! It's a very sweet, simple, easy to read story....more

Unfortunately, the story or to be more exact the text didn't do much for me. I like the idea behind it but I just feel like it missed the mark, It took a bit to long to get to the point. I did find that all of the different birds finding facts at the back of the book was way more interesting than the story itself and so did my 5-year-old niece. As for the illustrations they are really well done and very lovely. ...more

As soon as I saw the fox on the cover I just had to sign up to read this! The fact that this is also based on truth and real experiments made it even better. My niece who is 5 really enjoyed it too, she loves animals and books that are about "real" animals and events. Foxes have always been a love of mine and I'd love to actually have one as a pet someday :) We love the photos so much, Pushinka is absolutely beautiful! This is a book you can read many times and expect your child to ask many questions along the way. Its very thought invoking which I love. So yeah, this is definitely a book I recommend! Enjoy ...more

This is such a cute story. I read it to my niece and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything in this book was just wonderful; from it being based on 'The Wright Brothers' to the characters to the plot and of course the stunning illustrations. The illustrations have to be my favorite thing, they have this dreamy whispy hue about them that really draws you in. Seriously perfect! Definitely something we'll read many more times. So woth buying the actual print copy. Also, the free gifts at the end are just awesome. Who doesn't love coloring pages and a free picture book called Mr Smudge's Thirsty Day :)

This is the second book I have read now by Ingo Blum and I've given them both 3 stars. This wasn't a bad book, it was better than Where is My Little Dog? but still just a 3 star for me. My 5-year-old niece enjoyed it more too but I doubt it's something we'd ever read together again. It's a cute and funny little book with animals who live on a farm. They organize a party for their friend (who is a duck) Carlos's birthday party. I'm really not a fan of some of the names but that's neither here nor there. I didn't like that the conflict between Carlos and Nelly was never dealt with, it was just swept under the rug sort of speak. What a missed learning opportunity that was. I didn't care for the way the bilingual is set up. Again for little kids that are not bilingual, the extra words are confusing and distracting. Also, my niece was a bit disappointed that the pictures weren’t on the same pages as the story, perhaps it was because it was kindle format..? I don't know. Anyways the illustrations are really adorable and brightly colored so the artwork really pops and my niece loved the coloring pages at the end of the book that I was able to print out for her....more

I really like the concept of this book. It's a very simple, easy to follow story about a kid looking for there dog. I like the idea behind it being bilingual too but it didn't hit its mark in my opinion. For little kids that are not bilingual, the extra sentences will just confuse them. Which is what happened when reading to my little niece. The illustrations are really cute and the bright colors really pop however we were both a little confused about the dog lady at the end of the story...? As in there was NO lady. Anyways, I love that it includes coloring pages in the back of the book, I was able to print out for her to color. Honestly, that was what she was most excited about. Overall Where is My Little Dog? is a cute fun story. I would just maybe rethink the way it's set up....more

One of the best parts about growing up is being able to share your childhood favorites with the next generation. In my case that would be with my little niece's :) Well this series is one of them. I love this series so much and now so do they. These are true classic's!! And one in which you will want to read over and over and over again! It's really fun to read out loud and there is a lot of opportunities for the kids to join in because the books focus on using rhythmic and repetitive words throughout. The illustrations are so colorful and it catches the eye and really it's just so beautifully done.

I read this series so many times as a child and as an adult. I loved it so much. One of the best parts about growing is being able to share your childhood favorites with the next generation. In my case, with my little niece's :) Frog and Toad is such a touching and wonderful story of friendship. It also shows how there is a give-and-take in friendship as well. The illustrations are very simple and yet truly beautiful. Frog is a free-spirited character whereas Toad is somewhat grumpy and yet he's also a very caring character. For me Frog and Toad will always be the most memorable odd-couple duo in children’s book history. This is a series that children will love! Arnold Lobel’s book about true friendship truly deserved the honorable Caldecott Honor award. [image]...more

It was dark and beautiful“I can bear ugliness,” he said. “I find the one thing I cannot live with is death.” [image] This was a very enjoyable novella. It was dark and beautiful and it made me really sad 😭. This was all about having different perspectives :) It was about an ugly skinny fox name Koja who could talk his way out of every bad situation he found himself in. Whether it be being eaten as a kit to hounds to being eaten by a bear to a hunters trap, whatever the case he always had a trick up his sleeve (or rather paw lol), whatever it may be he could get them to do as he asks. He even became the bear, Ivan Gostov good friend. Koja had many friends in the forest despite his looks. I love his sarcasm! He was known to be the cleverest fox in all of Ravka. But for all his witty-ness and fast-talking, it doesn't mean he'll escape every trap set before him! Sometimes you need a trusted friend to save you. I just loved the way this one ended♥! I really love folklore! And OMG is cover is beautiful♥

[image] Awe, I love owls! So when I saw this book at the store I just had to buy it for my little niece just so I could read it to her lol :) This book is pretty simple with some repetition, it uses great rhyming patterns and it's poetic. It is easy to understand and has real-life situations for children. This is a book that shows children that their parent will come back, that it's okay to miss them because everything will work out. It also shows the baby owls staying together. This story is perfect for children of all ages. I really love the big fonts and the illustrations are truly magnificent! The full-page illustrations are big, bold and are very detailed and they go perfectly with the story. It's such a cute book that everyone should get a copy of so you too can read it to someone you love :) [image]...more

It teaches the value of friendship, of kindness, of giving and how you should treat others. The rhymes are very catchy and there is also some repetition. I love all the different animals Karma Wilson used in this story which includes a bear, gopher, hare, raven, wren, mole, and a mouse, it really enriched it that much more. It just kinda felt a bit long for what it was. But my little niece seemed to enjoy it well enough. Just NOT something I'd personally wanna read very often if ever again...
