I loved this book even more than the first one. This book is perfect parts psychological trauma, smut, and story. I do think the story moves slowly in the beginning and then really takes off at a run at the end - but it's worth it! The build up! The plot! Maven grew on me so much, and so did all of the guys. I can't wait to read the third one and see what happens to the quintet!...more

When I started it, the plot reminded me a lot of a different book I had read last year, but I think that might just be the "formula" for a fantasy RH to set things up. Blood Oath really started picking up as I continued reading. I did NOT like Maven at first. But she also grew on me as the book progressed. I did love all of the men though, they're fantastic and I love seeing how they're attached to Maven even with the way she treats them. Overall, this was a really good intro to the series and I can't wait for more!...more

If you've read other books by this author, you know Rayne is a monster smut queen in the "I want to hurt for him. I want to ache."
OKAY JANUARY RAYNE.
If you've read other books by this author, you know Rayne is a monster smut queen in the Shallow Cove Dimension, but this book is something new! If you're new to January Rayne, welcome to the family. We bite.
This is a short read, only about 50 pages, and is a completely different genre than what Rayne usually puts out. (Hehe, puts out).
I read Gallea's "Tethered" series before this one. Tethered was a fade to black series, but A Game of Love and Betrayal is nFantasy enemies to lovers!
I read Gallea's "Tethered" series before this one. Tethered was a fade to black series, but A Game of Love and Betrayal is new adult series set in the same universe but far in the future. There were a couple references to Tethered sprinkled around in the book, which I really enjoyed, but reading the other series is not a requirement for enjoying this one! This is definitely what I would call a book with some spice and not a spicy book. The spicy scenes were few and far in-between, but they were good! I feel like quite a bit of the main plot was predictable, but the end threw me for a loop and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book. This is a good start to a new series! You'll like this book if you're into: -Possessive fae -He falls first -Enemies to lovers -Love Is Blind (the show on Netflix - this plot is like a dating game show!) -Morally grey FMC...more
