Instead of focusing on the awfulness of the court and how much Damen hated it, it showed us how people from the bottom of the food chain can rise as high as they can as aristocrats' pets.
I liked it more than I thought I would, and I would have liked it to be longer even.
I love Charls. He sucks at names. He is hilarious. He is pure, and innocent (and oblivious at times).

This short story was cute, but it honestly doesn’t add anything to the plotline or the character development. It’s just a sweet moment between Poppy and Cas.

I am still hopelessly in love with Lucien. I need him to get his HEA.
I screeched when Rhysand first came in, with his famous “I’ve been looking for you” line.

This series is definitely one of my all-time favorites. ❤️
The first part of the book is a Beauty and the Beast retelling with a fae twist. After Feyre killed a fae in the woods while hunting, she has to yield her life to Prythian, the fae lands, in retribution. She is forced to go live with Tamlin, the High Lord of the Spring Court. Feyre hates faes, but of course, she ends up falling in love with Tamlin (even though Lucien is so much more interesting ...more

The thing is, we barely saw Raylynn in the Air Awakens series, so I never really cared about her… Reading a 200-page prequel about her was not soMeh.
The thing is, we barely saw Raylynn in the Air Awakens series, so I never really cared about her… Reading a 200-page prequel about her was not something I needed or was excited about.
Also, the fact that first, Baldair was at the Crossroads with only 2 guards is hard to believe, but the fact that he then left them to follow Raylynn on whatever adventure she wanted him to is utterly ridiculous. I struggle to believe that the crown prince has only 2 guards and that they would let him leave with a stranger, even if he ordered them to.
Baldair felt like an unruly child trying to prove his worth to Raylynn, even if it put his life in danger, and Raylynn felt selfish. After weeks with him, she still strung him along, and everything had to happen on her terms. She didn't tell him anything and just let him follow her everywhere like a lost puppy, and she was reckless enough to put his life in danger many times, without seeming to feel much remorse about it. Again: selfish.
