💀 DNF at 69%. 256 pages that felt like 10,589. Go me.
Actual rating: 2.5 stars. Yeah, I'm generous like that.
➽ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know IDNFed read this one wrong.
➽ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that thisoverhyped book is one glorious masterpiece of originality and creativity (view spoiler), wackiness (view spoiler), darkness and grittiness and goredom (view spoiler), excitement (view spoiler), and general awesomeness (view spoiler).
➽ Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know I should be kicked out of Goodreads for being so damn contrary all the time and callous enough to dare voice my mistaken, incorrect, faulty, erroneous opinion. Such outrageously revolting behavior should NOT be tolerated! I should be profoundly, deeply, acutely ashamed of my little self for not fully appreciating the wonderful wonderfulness of this wonderfully wonderful specimen of self-published literature. And, I deserve to be severely, intensely, thoroughly, seriously, vigorously punished for my lack of discernment (view spoiler).
And you know what else I know? That I didn't because it wasn't so I won't be and I'm not but do I still want to be? Hell yeah ← need a decoder for this one? That's so sad, I am momentarily out of stock.
» And the moral of this I DNF Therefore I Am Crappy Non Review (IDTIACNR™) is: there is a slight possibility that I might possibly not be entirely enthused by the idea of reading the next instalment in this most wondrous series. But hey, you never know, miracles happen sometimes. I mean, I could also unexpectedly turn out to be slightly overwhelmed by the need to stay the hell away from book 2. Never say never and all that crap.
» And the other moral of this I DNF Therefore I Am Crappy Non Review (IDTIACNR™) is: come one, Edward, let's bail.

I loved this book. I really did. It's just that it didn't love me back. Damn, it sucks so much to be me sometimes.

You're the fluffy bunny to my grumpy cat. We disagree on so many books, it's beautiful! Your propensity to love ALL the books is inversely proportional to my proclivity to hate them ALL. You fill my days with pastel colored rainbows and cute kitties. It's very disturbing, but I kinda like it. Haha.

Oh I'm strange for sure, and Senlin ascends is a strange book. So it wasn't love from the first sight, more like a one month passion :)

If you're giving it 2.5 stars and enjoyed parts of it, wouldn't it be prudent to round up to 3 instead of rounding down to 2? Doesn't seem very nice to do to the author.

Well you did say 2.5 and .5 and higher is normally rounded up in other instances. I wasn't telling you how to rate a book. I was simply stating that 2.5 should be rounded up, not down. Plus, the way you described it made it seem like you had more positive views about it then negative so to rate it a 2 seems to be just malicious and not based on the reality of your opinion. By all means, rate how you feel but these authors can be affected by the ratings system and reviews so fairness should play a role. I honestly see more sarcasm and maliciousness than an actual, well thought out review here. To each there own.

It kind of felt like the author didn't know what he wanted to do with, or what direction to take, didn't it? It's a shame because the premise is intriguing and the author came up with some creative ideas for the book.
Yikes your reviews are hard to read.
There was no constructive criticism and the weird lettering/GIFs were distracting instead of funny. Can't take this seriously.

Being oppressed minority sadly misunderstood when it comes to my literary sensibilities is my normal role on goodreads. Indeed, I am deeply suspicious when I find myself in a situation when I like a book other people rave about and hate a book nobody loves. I have nervous breakdowns, doubts eat me alive and even quadruple chocolate cheesecake does not help.
