The Boss. Bruuuce. The man, period. I'm a life-long Bruce fan but, it wasn't until I saw the Netflix show that I became interested in learning more about the man behind the music. Written in staccato style often, this autobio was fun to read--in a way, it was like reading the lyrics of one long song. He was unflinchingly honest in his assessments of his own successes and failures--and this was like a breath of fresh air coming from a wealthy musician. More than anything, I was just left with the impression that Bruce is an artist, a craftsman. Sure, he's rock'n'roll, but he works hard at what he does, and he does so while guided by a sense of commitment to his fans and his country. He also clearly leaves no stone unturned when examining his own angels and demons. We all have them.
