it was ok

The heroine was so annoying. She kept throwing herself at the hero. He was upset because he heard her call him a monster. She reads a lot of romance novels with monsters in them so she giving him a compliment. She finally explains that to him.

She also kept using slang from Earth knowing that the hero's translator couldn't translate it. It was so annoying having her explain over and over what she actually meant.

Honestly the best part of the book was the Arco (alien mermaid people) who convince half of the human women rescued from the alien jail to go to Arco instead of Sevua where the hero is from. He tells the women there is a shortage of women there and they will be honored guests. If they decide to choose a mate they will be treated like queens.

I've edited my review. The author just released a short story about the Arcon (alien mermaid people) called Alien Tides, in March 2023. So it looks like she is planning another series with the Arcon as the heroes.

At the end of the book hero and heroine are having a bachelor party and a bachelorette party because she said she wanted a real wedding like on Earth. Hero tells his friends he has been reading romance novels from earth and they involve orcs and kidnapping and saying Mine. The other aliens are very interested in the kidnapping idea.

We find out at the end of the book that two of the hero's friends kidnapped their mates and they are now missing.
