it was amazing

I am a hoe for P&P retellings 💅🏻

Despite this having the potential to be a dark and heavy book given the reality of what being trans in Regency England would be, Gabe managed to make this book feel so safe and comforting. Now there are TW’s, and I am not trans, so proceed with care obviously. Oliver is surrounded by love, and the scenes with his father and Darcy in particular brought me to literal tears.

I also LOVED the note at the end of the book sharing the realities of being queer and trans during this time. Additionally, it details what Molly houses were and what the term “Molly” means. I had never heard of either before and it was eye opening and shocking to say the least. Do not skip this part of the book!

P. S. The audiobook is spectacular

Soph K I was brought to tears so many times by this book, it's unreal. My heart broke for Oliver many times throughout and I'm glad he got his happy ending. I loved his friends and his family, their and Darcy's final support. ( Mr.Bennet was my favourite tho :) )
As you said the historical note at the end, about what being queer in those times meant was also a nice surprise, learned so many new things!

I think I might just listen to the audiobook now :)
