Call this series overhyped all you want this was incredible! I went into this completely blind and I ADORED everything I got. The action, the intrigue, the suspense oh my!

Xaden is in my Top 5 Book Boyfriends of all time. He's cunning, smart and protects the people he cares about with his life. I adore him! I love that he isn't ashamed of Violet and goes out of his way to help and train her. Violet is amazing! She's overcome so much. Her sass and backbone are awesome! I respect the hell out of her. Teirn's wisecracks and dry humor were great too! Her boy best friend (Dane, Dean, Dill??) I couldn't care less about him if I tried. He's a jerk who consistently puts Violet down and coddles her in dangerous situations. He has this holier-than-thou thing going on and acts like he knows what's best for Violet even when she explicitly says otherwise. It's frustrating and annoying that he doesn't listen or seem to respect her in any way shape or form. It's like she can never prove herself worthy enough to him regardless of the situation. I wasn't expecting his betrayal but if I'm being honest I was in no way surprised by it.

I'm very glad that I waited for the GraphicAudio editions of this series to be released. The experience has been AMAZING! Every audiobook should be a GraphicAudio production.

Daniel Montague Excellent review, Mikky, you really brought the story to life much like this version of the audiobook. I am more ambivalent about Dain? than you, but can understand your frustration and antipathy, especially in regards to the betrayal and overprotectiveness.
