“He has to be ready for it, Jess,” I say, my voice low and quiet.

Jesse nods. “I know. It’s just that I’m a fixer, and his broken-ass heart is the one thing I can’t fix.”

“No one can,” I say. “I can’t fix his broken heart. He has to be willing to be with me with a whole heart. There’d be pieces missing, and seams and cracks, but offered as a whole. I’m worth more than just taking the screwed up mess of him, just to have part. I want more than that—I deserve more. If he can get there, I’ll be here waiting. I’ve got nothing but time, Jess. I’m not going anywhere, and I told him that. I’m willing to wait—because I think he’s worth waiting for.” I smile at Jesse. “If he can get his head out of his ass and work on rebuilding his broken-ass heart, he’ll be worth having waited for.”

Except I’ve already waited so long. For him—for anyone, but especially for him. Endured so much. Spent so long alone, and lonely. And now James is RIGHT THERE, but still out of reach. My heart wants him, my body wants him, but my fears say he’ll only hurt me. And he himself says he’s not sure he’ll ever be able to get over the past—losing his wife. I don’t blame him, but…

How long can I wait? And if he does come around, will it be worth it?

As this series comes to an end, we are now getting to James and Nova's story and I must say that this one is the hardest, emotion wise. This story is wonderfully written and will not only tug at your heartstrings, it will pull them hard and bring you to tears. Both James and Nova have something very painful in common. Loss. And trying to move forward from loss is hard, it's tricky, and it can be painful. Nova has a bit more baggage behind her, but it's the loss of someone who held their hearts that will either bring them together or break them apart. Sometimes letting go isn't as easy as they make it out to be. For James and Nova, the attraction that they have for one another is palpable, and everyone around them knows that they like each other, they just have to admit it to themselves, and to each other. The road ahead of them is filled with angst, sexual tension and even a few tears, but it is a road that must be traveled. You will not be disappointed in the bedroom area either, because when these two come together, turn up the AC, step outside into the snow; whatever it takes to cool you down, because they will scorch the pages and leave you sweating.

I loved this book so very much and I think that it is by far my favorite out of the series. It is sweet, tender and powerful all at the same time. Of course these two have their friends who stand beside them, behind them and rally around them when the need is there, just as they do for their friends--their family. Oh, and the banter between the guys and the girls..yep it's still there and will have you rolling.

I am sorry that we have to say goodbye to Dad Bod Contracting and all of the wonderful characters that we have met and grown to love, but I am so happy that I was able to meet them and read their stories. I will miss them and I cannot recommend this series nor this book highly enough. What a wonderful, entertaining series. Don't pass this one by!

Jasinda has truly Screwed me.
Wait.. this was a process.
She has Hammered , Drilled , Nailed AND Screwed my emotions. But it's OK because I loved every word, every page and every chapter composed in this series.

Screwed brings the series to an end, giving us James and Nova's story. An amazing story about starting over. A story that shows how friends are the family members you select to walk through life. A story where loss and love remind us to let go and live. Just thinking of how I felt when reading this book, I get emotional. Cathartic tears that only the Wilders provide.

While I'm sorry to see a series come to an end, I love and highly recommend this whole series. The characters are in their forties and I loved being able to connect and relate to them. Even though the stories are told from the heroines POVs, you truly get both sides and you fall in love with all the characters.

Read it! You'll thank me later.

It dragggged. Ugh.

I normally never rate this author this low, but this book was so disappointing. I caught myself skimming most of it. I’m sorry, but I don’t find paragraphs and paragraphs of in-depth description of weight lifting, how supped up a truck is, how they’re going to remodel her house, or repetitive dialogue on backstory that interesting. The heroine told her same backstory about three times. Why? It wasn’t necessary. I felt like I was trying to read the beginning of The Hobbit and was being told, in chapters, what the Shire looked like.
This one just dragged on and on.

Have those tissues handy. James and Nova's story is real, raw and will have you a complete and utter mess. This book is mesmerizing. The chemistry will set you on fire and the characters pasts will break you. When James and Nova finally start talking to one another about why they're hesitant for a relationship, it's going to shatter you. It sure did me.
Jasinda most definitely saved my favorite Dad Bod for last for a reason and I know why. This book is everything I love in a book and so much more. James Bod has captured my heart and I'm so glad she saved him for last because all the emotions and all the love in this book is pure beauty.

So prepare yourself for a great book that you won't be able to put down. I loved getting to know James and Nova. James was just amazing. I loved him so deeply it was like he carved himself into my soul. Readers will go crazy for him. I mean who doesn't love a compassionate man that loves so deeply. But everything him and Nova go through is deep and something they both need in order to learn to live again. These two know they're meant for each other, but getting past their lost loves is a lot to take on. So prepare to be left breathless.

The end of this book is just bittersweet. I couldn't have asked for a better ending to this series. Well done Jasinda. I give Screwed by Jasinda Wilder 5 out of 5 SOUL SOARING STARS!

Screwed

I just knew this book was going to be EVERYTHING! I can’t even explain the emotions I felt reading about James and Nova. Was so happy to have the epilogue to see how everyone was doing. Very sad to have this series end.

My favourite of the series!

I’ve enjoyed these funny and heated stories with strong, hot construction men and the women who match them toe to toe. Jasinda Wilder writes family and friends with heart and affection, offering another sexy read to savour with the last in the bunch, Jessie and Nova’s story…

Friends to lovers, and so much more, Jessie and Nova, the whole Dad Bod crew, somehow managed to elevate the heat and once again hit me with all the feels. Both had suffered heartbreaking loss and were still dealing with their grief. They were friendly, both acknowledging the attraction they had for each other but agreed to leave it at that. Until something changed. That tickle of desire became a flood of feelings including comfort and love… There were heart-stopping bumps along the way – and not just for them. Wrenchingly hard, dig into your soul, stomach-churning kind of stuff. Jasinda Wilder knows how to write real, relatable stories and Nova and Jessie’s is one of my new favourites!

I wished Jesse’s girls had been more in the picture but they, as well as all the much-loved characters in this series, came together in a warm epilogue that tied it all up nicely. If only Dad Bod Contracting were real…

I've been waiting for this book, wanting to see what James would do about Nova and to learn Nova's past. Through out the series all we have heard about was James and Renee and their epic love that ended when she died during childbirth. I thought the author did a great job addressing both James and Nova's romantic past. James and Nova talked through things with each other, could understand each other and after having issues, then talked some more. The talking was a cornerstone for them, something they needed to get things out in the open and address the fears the other felt.

I loved how all the others chimed in on things between James and Nova. At times it was support, at times it was teasing, but through it all they were there for the couple.

The ending to this one made me smile. I loved that we got to see the HEA that all the couples had and how they were living their lives.

Screwed by Jasinda Wilder is book for in her Dad Bod Contracting series. Every book in this series is about another couple and can be read as a standalone. For better understanding I recommend to read the books in order. The previous books are Hammered, Drilled and Nailed.

Screwed tells James and Nova's heartwrenching story. James Bod is a man in his fourties, owns a construction company and raises his daughters. The widower is still hung up on the death of his wife, he simply can't let go.
Nova Benson is through a lot herself. Calling her past rough is a understatement. She avoids marriage at all costs.

Screwed is a emotional read, the most emotional of all books in this series. Reading baout James and Nova was bittersweet. Sweet because I was waiting for his story and bitter because now the series came to an end.
Like the other books, Screwed is told in a single POV.

Perfect ending to this series that all can be read as standalones.
Love that all the characters in this series are older and wiser and have lived life and then some to find their happily ever after.
This is James & Nova's story.
I was waiting for this one because I wanted to know how things would end with them & Author Jasinda Wilder gave it all!
I laughed & cried reading this book.
It has all the feels and enjoyed that many of the life events that Nova & James go through touched me personally.
A well rounded series that I will be going back to read over and over again.
Go #oneclick them all!

Oh my, this book hit all the right spots! It's so emotional, heartbreaking, heartwarming, funny with the banter between all the characters, and it's freaking hot!
James and Nova have been dealt a shitty hand and now they have to sort through grieving, guilt and all the related issues if they have a chance at exploring what's between them.
I have to say I love every single character of this series!!!

James loves to shower his girl with compliments, “Jesus.” His voice is ragged, gravelly. “I musta died and gone to heaven, ’cause you look like a effin’ angel, Nova.” There are times James will do things for a purely selfish reason, “babe, I’ll buy it for you, if it means I get to see you in lingerie. You are the sexiest woman in the world.” I liked this book, I fell in love with James.

I really didn’t care for this book. I thought there was to much repetition in explanation between Nova and James.

I’m glad the series is done. Loved the epilogue. It was great to see where everyone was at.

WOW WOW WOW

I thought the BADD series was the best. Love those hot brothers, each so unique and sexy but loving and strong as brothers, as men, as partners and lovers. Then you do it again with the BOD guys. The all Male, all hot men and their equally strong passionate women. The problem is I devoured them so quickly and now I feel satisfied yet craving more.
I am forever a JASINDA FAN!

An emotional and hot end to a great series.

I’m a huge fan of this author and I’ve really enjoyed this series so far. This story is about the single dad and boss of dad bods so I couldn’t wait to read it.

Nova loves her job as a nurse and has spent the last few years without a man in her life as she tries to work through a personal tragedy from her past. Everything changes when she’s invited to a barbeque by a friend and finds herself being kissed by the big and sexy James Bod against his fridge. They both try to forget that anything happened between them but every time they meet, it’s hard to ignore the sizzling chemistry between them.

James Bod owns Dad Bod construction and is a single dad to two daughters since his wife sadly died in childbirth. He’s never touched a woman since his wife, until the kiss with Nova in his kitchen and now she’s all he can think about. When he goes to her house to discuss her remodel, sparks fly and the attraction they have for each other explodes into a very passionate make out session. What was supposed to be a great experience ends in disaster when James says something he shouldn’t at a crucial moment leaving Nova feeling hurt.

As James has been absent for weeks to work on his feelings, Nova feels like it’s time to give up on the hopes of the man who owns her heart becoming her HEA. Will James be able to rid himself of the guilt he feels and allow his heart to be open to loving someone deeply again?

I really enjoyed this story, it was emotional and heart warming to read. James and Nova are great characters who both have pain in their pasts that they’ve never dealt with but need to work through before they can move on. It was bittersweet reading this as I know it’s the last in the series but the Epilogue is great because all the couples from the previous books are in it for a final goodbye. I definitely recommend this book and all the previous books in the Dad Bod series.

I know this may be a shock and varies from.the majority but I just wasn't a fan of this last book. The other 3...absolutely!!

Being honest...

1. Not in Jasinda's usual style for this series or her work overall. It was not exciting and it was a push to get through it. Her Badd series and the rest of Dad Bod books I burned through in days...yes all of them.in days! This one i just didnt like!

2. The character development failed. The lead female "Nova" started out as tight lipped, driven, quiet and basically easily offended by other characters' dirty comments. But she flipped a switch like night and day and changed all of her initial demonstrated personalities and views. Mind, you this changed for a guy with based on the story line, she only interacted with 3 times! Her whole basis of who she was changed and changed so much in lost respect for the end character.

3. The story line was consumed with the male character's ("James" ) never ending hang up on his dead ex-wife. (Please know I'm not a heartless person, but this was too much.) there was so much focus on this and back and forth it missed the mark on the actual development between the two main characters which needed it!

4. I couldn't get on board with the Nova. I wasn't able to see her growth. It was an excitable path to her connection and ultimate development with James. I love many types of books and characters when well put together. Nova was written to be taken initially as an excessively tall, brute, with snappy attitude, power lifter, standoffish and quiet, and avoids lewd or dirty talk but is also a nurse and was a bartender and party planner. She wasn't the same person at the end. Just seemed all odd things thrown together.

I knew Nova and James’s story would be emotional, but holy cow did the author give us an amazing heartfelt storyline with Screwed, written with Jasinda’s marvelous flare for the written word . Another great thing about “Screwed” is while the story is about James and Nova, the whole Dad Bod Contracting gang is back and play an active role in the storyline and what I can only sadly conclude is the ending of the series.

Nova has been the elusive one of the girls in the first 3 books. We know she has her secrets from the past but what and how deep they cut, the loss she’s dealt with. we are soon to find out. Nova is crazy about James, has been since the first time she saw him and especially after that first toe curling kiss. As for James, he has closed himself off after the death of his wife. While wildly attracted to Nova, he can’t get past the guilt of wanting another. Their story is a full of roadblocks, speedbumps, and aghast. Can these two possibly find a way to move forward and let the past stay in the past?

This is a story full of goosebumps, sadness, laughter and love. I highly recommend it as well as all the Dad Bod Contracting series. 2 Thumbs and 5 stars up for a wonderful read and one outstanding series.

James and Nova both have tragic pasts that are similar and for the both of them to be able to find love again in one another was amazing. I was rooting for them from the beginning.

Nova loves her job as a nurse and is dealing with things from her past she wasn’t looking for love. She was just loving her life.

James is the boss of Dad bod construction he’s a father of two an also a widower. The way that his wife passed heartbreaking. I just wanted to reach into the book and be able to give him a hug and tell him that everything is going to be okie.

Until one day when Nova goes to a BBQ and sees James. They share something beautiful and after they both try to forget it happened. Until one day it all comes to a head and leads to disaster for Nova.

The fact that James and Nova have something in common I think that makes this one more raw an beautiful.

I’m sad to see this series end. I am loving all the characters in the books. I think that this one was my favourite out of them all. It was the most emotional in my opinion. Which made me love it even more.

Screwed is the wrap for the Dad Bod series and I adored James’ tale.

This series went inside the lives of these women and men all around the age of 40. I loved the realness of dealing with dating beyond the age of 25.

A refreshing break from the norm done in a true Jasinda fashion with hotter than Hades men and sassy strong women. My one hang up is the size of the member ...ahem...lost me a tad here because so not realistic. YES I know this is a romance read but I loved the realism of relating to these women because they are my age and size does matter when the imagery plays in my brain. Bigger than a babies arm isn’t as much fun as it sounds.

Overall, in the end we got HEA we need for each character after the push and pull of Nova and James. A couple who both need to find healing before a life together can happen.

Heart, heat, sauciness and amazing imagery the final Dad Bod book will leave you smiling and squirming.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SCREWED" Another terrific read in this "Dad Bod Contracting Series" it's full of heartache, intrigue, greif, loss, passion, traumatic past, mystery. James and Nova's story their journey is a bumpy one she's a little on the mysterious side and heS having a hard time letting the past go can he come to terms with his grief to gave a future with Nova or will everything be lost. You must get this book to follow their love story and see if they can have their HEA I definitely recommend as usual Jasinda Wilder did a great job writing this story with captivating interesting characters,

Screwed is the fabulous final book in her Dad Bod Contracting series.
Screwed is the tale of James and Nova and their emotional struggles. James is a widower and
Nova, we discover has also experienced heartache. They both feel they are not ready for a relationship.
Their emotional and physical connection is very strong and it's tough for them to fight it. They both work through their past pain, through acceptance, soul searching and honest talks.
This roller coaster ride is a wonderfully written conclusion to this series. We also find out what happens to all of our favorite couples in the Dad Bod 'family'.

OMG..............it just can’t be over!!!! I can’t believe this! We finally get to the crux of it and it’s over? I’ve waited too long for Nova and James and I’m deeply satisfied with what I got.......BUT.........I’m also very sad to see this end. 😔😔😔😔. I really loved this series....particularly because it was grown! We weren’t dealing with teenagers or with the twenty somethings that are still wet behind the ears, but with the early thirties-forties where I can seriously relate. Actual grown situations...where life is real.
Thank you Jasinda, for that and the many books of yours that allow me to escape from everyday crap. Keep them coming. Exceptional read.

This book was everything I was hoping for and so much more. Jasinda Wilder definitely saved the best for last. I've fallen in love with this series, with these characters. Nova and James were no exception to that love. I couldn't believe the reason these two were so hesitant to start a relationship. They had amazing chemistry, but as the truth comes out, my heart broke. It actually shattered, but good grief.

I'm sad to see this series go, but I'm excited about what Jasinda has for us in the future. Check out this amazing series. I promise you will not be disappointed. I loved getting to know Nova and James.

Jasinda left the best for last! James and Nova were definitely my favorite couple in the series. The intensity of emotions with these characters was great. James is a single dad who lost his wife and is raising his girls on his own. Nova has been pretty closed off about her emotions up until this book. She lost a fiance to cancer and has gone through many other things along the way too. Of course James and Nova have an attraction that they have both been fighting against. Watching them come together as a couple was emotional and so good! Another great series comes to an end for Jasinda Wilder!

Screwed!!! My most favorite of the Dad Bod Series!
I couldn’t wait to learn more about James since the first book.
With the losses James and Nova have dealt with in the past, their story is so heartwarming how they took the time with each other. Both have traumatic past experiences that put their lives at a standstill for a long time. Love how they were brave for themselves first to learn that you can still remember the past and it’s ok to move on.
I laughed and cried, had all the feels with this read. Amazing Read!

I have loved this series from the very beginning. The character intertwined through each book is perfection! Throughout the series Jesse and Nova have kept me intrigued with their refusal to act on what was obvious. Nova was such a mysterious character throughout the series-- finding out her background and getting inside her story was absolutely perfect! I cried for her, and Jesse, as individuals and also for not taking chances. Their story was fun and emotional and suited them!

Thank you for your review.

It’s been a great series and screwed is a great way to end it. Throughout all the books I’ve wondered what Nova’s back story was, in this book all is revealed. Nova and James are clearly attracted to each other but due to their past, it’s stopping them from being together. I have cried throughout this book as James is having difficulty with his feelings. It’s such a good book. Definitely recommend this book.
