Gold was the dominant colour in every building Drexan owned in such a quantity that it was obscene. He thought it made him better. Made him better than his employees, his friends, his lovers, made him better than Ilan Dahnus Ascendi.

This is officially the most petty reason for DNFing a book. After these sentences, I cannot read this book without thinking of Donald Trump. And although I know he's portrayed as a villain and not an MMC, I just can't. The world is filled with enough reminders of this piece of trash.
