A robot cat is sent back in time by a boy to help a his (the boy's) grandfather stay out of trouble when *he* (the grandpa) is a kid. (*whew*) Okay, but not earth-shattering.

The usual frolics, with a good selection of interesting adventures. Some were unexpectedly serious in concept, if rarely in execution.

More wacky (I feel comfortable using that word here, because the book's dated as well as the word) adventures with bizarre gadgets, usually ending in disaster. Sometimes a little hard to follow, but fun light-hearted stuff.

A fun, silly little set of stories and great reading practice for the student of Japanese. It uses fairly everyday language, with only a smattering of unusual vocabulary and colloquialism, making it easy to follow. The art is simple but slick, and the misadventures of Nobita (and his well-deserved downfalls) are nice clean fun.
