What a beautiful book! It reminded me a bit of Jeff Vandermeer, specifically Dead Astronauts, in how it was written, tone, and cosmic-horror-science-fiction-apocalyptic style. Or even Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. In fact, that might be a nice companion piece for time travel love stories.

The story is as straightforward as time travel can be, but what stands out is how poetic the writing is. It verges into poetry in many instances, written in a way that is more akin to watercolor brushstrokes.

I don't know what else to say--this is one of my favorites I've read this year. It won't be for everyone because it is a bit weird at times, but I loved how a simple love story is at its center, written in a way that transcends the genre.

Red and Blue are soldiers in a Time War that follows threads of time changing things to get their desired outcome for their respective sides, Agency and Garden. They begin to notice each other and respect their strategy, then leave letters in weird methods that draw them closer until the inevitable when their commands take notice. This was pretty confusing at the beginning. However, I pursued to the end. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

This must be a joke. This book is extremely tedious, badly written, trying to be poetic? I couldn't I couldn't read more than 10 pages.
