This book was amazing. It was the first one I have read of Sherry Gloag. She captures the horrors of childhood trauma terrifically. Watching Gina come to terms with everything, seeing her life in upheaval, and seeing her come out stronger once she faced it, is a testament to her resilience. For some, like me, it will definitely strike home with how true to life this is. Watching as Gina gets strong enough to let someone in, especially someone she thought of as an enemy, is such a transformation, but I love how you got to see every step of her journey. It wasn't just, one day she is broken, one day she is fixed, and you, the reader, are left shaking your head in confusion. When Gina finally gets to meet her mom, I bawled like a baby, watching the agony both of these women have went through every day. For a mother, the guilt of knowing what she did to her child. For the child, to spend her life thinking her mother didn't love her or want her, which immediately made her undesirable and unlovable to find out that wasn't the case at all. Then watching her spread her wings with Ben is a memorable experience. You will not be able to put it down, I certainly couldn't

Book: His Chosen Bride
Series: Gasquet Princes - Book 2
Author: Sherry Gloag
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Length: Approximately 98 Pages

HIS CHOSEN BRIDE by SHERRY GLOAG is the second book in the Gasquet Princes Series. I read the first book in the series, FROM NOW UNTIL FOREVER, while I was on vacation as a personally chosen read, so I didn't review that book, but I did rate it 4 Stars. I'm so glad I picked FROM NOW UNTIL FOREVER up. There are several reasons for that. My first genre of choice is romance. I love reading series, and there are princes involved. Need I say more?

HIS CHOSEN BRIDE is Henri and Monica's story. Henri has worked tirelessly for a year with the duties for his father, the king, while he recuperated from a nasty heart attack. Henri takes his duty to the throne seriously and gives no regard to his private life. Monica is a woman with a secret. She has a powerful gift that has sent everyone she's cared about running from her when they found out about it. She's sworn off personal relationships of any kind. You can't get hurt, if you don't let anyone in. And then, there was that one magical dance that left them both weak-kneed.

Although HIS CHOSEN BRIDE is the second book in the series, it is stand alone and there is no need to read them in order. There is a touch of paranormal (psychic abilities) in this book which I really liked. I also really enjoyed the relationships in these books. You have best girlfriends and brothers. It was entertaining seeing them interact with each other, and I thought the dialog was really great. This is a sweet romance just perfect for Valentine's Day. If you are looking for a fun read, a sweet romance and a couple of dream princes, this is the book and series for you!

From Now Until Forever by Sherry Gloag starts out with a bang. We are thrust immediately into the middle of a gun-fight/ stake out at a horse ranch where the main character, Liam Fitzwilliam Gasquet, has been caught in the cross fire. Liam, who is actually the crown prince of a small, independent European country, has been living under an alias for several years in an effort to escape the demands of his royal heritage. During that time he met and married Melanie, owner of the ranch. Little did he know that Melanie was actually in the employ of his own government’s secret service, hired as a personal bodyguard to keep him safe. When the truth comes out, both feel betrayed. But immediate danger continues as insurgents are determined to kill Liam. Will they survive and will their love for one another be enough once the dust has settled? It reminds me of ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ in that they ead double lives... There is lots of action and intrigue in this one so hang on for the ride.… (more)

This was a cute and sweet, if predictable, romance. What really added a nice twist was Monica's "gift" of healing and seeing things in the fire, which is what caused part of the conflict - that, and the prince's stubbornness. Most of the story can stand on its own, but there were times when I felt I really missed some backstory by not reading the first in the series. I will have to rectify that soon.
