Acts provides practical instruction for Christians in today's world. It shows that the wall of partition was broken down between the Jews and Gentiles, it gives clear indications of the high spiritual standards set for Christians, it shows God's powerful working through His people and His power to defeat Satanic forces.

C'mon, people, John Wycliffe was a radical!

You'd never know it from this commentary which bears his name. It is a very extensive commentary, available in several inexpensive editions, so if you want something cheap and thorough, this might be for you. But be warned: It is conservative, and conservative of the type that doesn't give much hearing to modern Biblical scholarship. Whether that will be enough of a resource for you will of course depend on your convictions. But it certainly isn't what I would have expected under the name "Wycliffe."… (more)

The general purpose of this book is to provide a broad understanding of the background and message of the New Testament. It opens with chapters on the time between the Old and New Testaments, giving information on history, institutions, and literature, and goes on to discuss the language of the New Testament, the text and its transmission, the canon, and the individual books of the New Testament. For each of the New Testament books Dr. Harrison provides a helpful outline and introduces the reader to a greater understanding of the text by relevant discussions.… (more)
