Hey, the plot actually started to come together in this volume. Problem is, I realized I don't really care about it or the many characters wandering around in it being goofy or evil in random turns. And this volume only gets me about a quarter of the way through the series.

I think I'm going to call it quits here.

Books that review themselves: "Listen, with the time controller, Risu's unknown whereabouts and what the man inside the lizard's mouth said . . . there are just too many things that need clarification."

I'm not charmed enough by the humor or the characters to forgive the sloppy mess that passes for a plot in this series.

Last volume, everyone was distracted by a baseball game. This time everyone is getting ready for the big festival. Next volume, will they be doing home-made chocolates for Valentine's Day and White Day?

I have one more volume on hand from the library, but I'm feeling right now, it will be the last volume I check out from the library for this series.

Minor plot developments happen accidentally and incidentally as the characters get distracted playing baseball and going shopping.

I have a couple more volumes on hand from the library, so I'll forge on despite this disappointing entry in the series.

Okay. The collision of the past and present storylines actually helped lift this goofy series back into the zone of being interesting, especially as things abruptly moved toward a climactic battle that left the book ending on a cliffhanger.

I'll give the next volume a try if my local library adds it to their collection.
