Diana Brewer lies in a hayfield, circled by vultures, discovered by a local farmer. How quickly a girl becomes a ghost. How quickly a town of friendly, familiar faces becomes a town of suspects, a place of fear and paranoia. Someone in Fairhill did this. Everyone wants answers.

This story switches among various characters and their points of view including Diana who speaks as a ghost. There are 3 main suspects that all seem guilty of something. All the characters had strong and dramatic emotions as information is revealed and that kept me interested. The ending is a stretch but it was an entertaining read.… (more)

Stephanie and Patrick are exhausted and sleep deprived from dealing with twins with colic when woman shows up from Patrick's past. She's making accusations about the accidental death of Patrick's first wife. Stephanie rejects her lies until more info comes out and she starts questioning what she knows about her husband. When a 17-year old girl is found murdered in a farmer's field in a small town in Vermont, there are multiple suspects with many secrets. As the investigation progresses, the secrets are revealed, which are devastating when revealed. Diana Brewer, the deceased teenager, had not disclosed what troubled her to many close to her.

I thought that the inclusion of Diana's "ghost" having a POV throughout the story was odd. I am not a fan of supernatural occurences, so this diminished the book for me. The plot held my interest, and the revelation of the killer surprised me.… (more)
