- Philip A. Lee is a freelance writer and editor whose many writing contributions to the BattleTech universe include more than a dozen pieces of short fiction and various sourcebook writing. He has also contributed fiction and sourcebook material for the Shadowrun, Cosmic Patrol, Valiant Universe Roleplaying Game, Pathfinder, Steamcraft, and more. He lives in Dayton, Ohio, with his wife and four cats.

BattleTech: Shrapnel, Issue #4 by Philip A. Lee
Nothing really special in this one, but nothing bad either :) Iwish they would organize their "magazine" better, with stories that have some kind of connections. As it is, we get thrown across eras and factions and there is no way to really feel a connection to any of those when you close the book.
Battletech. Meaning, lots of useless pages of mech fights(you read one of those, you read them all) but the book is good when it's not a fight description.
Meh, nothing that stood out in this one.
The usual mech stories. The one about the phantom was pretty good. The one by Stakpole was the usual name dropping(he loves to drop mech's design name, pilot name, probably to fill out word count but it would be nice if the stories would hold better)
