This was just... eh.

I wasn't too big a fan of Rupi Kaur's Milk and Honey either. I guess poetry novels just aren't for me.

This is exactly what I needed, all about empowerment and believing in yourself. Written beautifully and so eloquently, but packs in so much relatable content of the experience of being a woman in society. I’m really charmed by Lovelace’s writing style and the structure of these poems. Definitely will be re-reading this again.

Wow....Not for the first time, the English language has failed me entirely. I just, wow. What will stick with me the most is the courage and faith that it took to write something this intensely personal.

I think that it takes an incredible amount of strength and self-love to be able to admit to oneself that you have been emotionally abused, and that it doesn't stop you from still hoping that they will change.

This book should absolutely be required reading at the high school level. I firmly believe that. If you do nothing else for the rest of the year; read this poetry anthology.… (more)
