Windblown by Édouard Manceau
Like TICKLE MONSTER, this story makes an excellent flannel board! With just the seven pieces shown on the cover, you can make all the different creatures pictured inside (chicken, frog, fish, snail, etc.). The story is somewhat pattern-based and ends with the wind literally blowing away all the animals' arguments, but the potential for flannel board play or arts and crafts projects is obvious.

Once Upon a Rainy Day by Édouard Manceau
I loved this book - the meta aspect of up and the illustrations were lovely. However my three-year-old was confused and my seven-year-old was bored. So I'm not sure it works as a children's book.
