Inspector Morse Death is Now my Neighbour Episode 31 by John Thaw
Good example of the series with several plot lines well threaded together, and quite fast moving, well for this series anyway.
The very first Morse episode, wherein Morse meets Lewis for the first time. Two plot lines are well interwoven by the scriptwriter (Anthony Minghella) and some good performances among the supporting cast. Morse's car gets bashed about a lot more than in subsequent episodes. As so often in this series, his romantic ambitions are thwarted.
High productionn and acting values as always. Complex two-strand plot which perhaps could be better integrated, as at the end there's a slight feeling that the viewer has been cheated. But still worth watching.
First broadcast in 1987, the Inspector Morse series is a crime drama based on the Colin Dexter novels of the same name. The show is based around the exciting exploits of Morse - a senior officer within the Criminal Investigation Department of the Oxford Police - as he investigates heavy crimes in and around Oxford with his sidekick, Sergeant Lewis.
