Mia has lost 2 months of her memory due to an attack. Though on the surface she covers her anxiety her family and close friend hover and she pushes boundaries. When she is mugged on the way home from a jog, bits and flashes of scenes begin scaring her. As she starts questioning and putting little things together she pushes more. This was a great beginning and premise but the characters never developed any depth and she did some stupid things that didn't go with the character she kept telling us she was. More telling than showing and not likable characters.… (more)

This starts right where book 1 ends and could not be a standalone since some things in the first volume are not explained sufficiently in volume 2. The drama in this story was over the top; why talk when you can scream or cry; solutions to problems are violence; need to fill a little time between confrontations, have sex; want something done, buy it or manipulate the people involved; and at all times show us how rich and influential you are while saying money isn't important. Really! Will not be reading anything by this author again.… (more)

To say that I had been eagerly waiting for this book would be an understatement. Every teaser that I saw posted only fueled that desire to have it in my needy hands. I had it preordered and counted the days until it was downloaded on my kindle. I was never so frustrated as having to wait for real life to stop being chaos. I knew that I needed devoted time to read this without interruptions, vacation, and family getting in the way. I was right to wait because this book was fantastic.

I loved that the author played on the notion of power in this book. Not just power in regards to the positions in life but also the dynamic in a BDSM relationship. While Dante might appear to be the one in control it was actually Sarah that was in control. Dante was able to lower his "monster" for her which made their relationship that much better. The soft touches that he did such as helping her put on her shoes was not a sign of a soft man but rather one that instead showed that he knew how to take care of her needs. This is just one of many examples in the book that showed how phenomenal they were as a couple. The push and play, banter, and steamy times were hotter than a summer day in Death Valley. There were a couple of scenes that I swear had me blushing worse than a nun in a brothel. I will not look at a Cuban cigar the same way. NEVER.

There was just something extra special to Dante that made him titillating. It was no wonder that Sarah couldn't say no to him. "He’s a dangerous, powerful man, and that’s catnip for this pussy." Goddess knows that I would have offered him my panties in a heartbeat.

He made no qualms about his intentions and that he was not a good man. "I smile to myself because I don’t have a devil and an angel on my shoulders—I have two devils." He was truly the Devil. Yet, that made him that much more appealing. He wouldn't have it any other way because he was steadfast in only being Dante. He wouldn't have anyone higher on that pedestal, not even God himself. Which in hindsight made the above-mentioned shoe scene that much more meaningful. It took Dante a while to actually vocalize his feelings, even though everyone knew how he felt. BUT, when he did... sweet Holy Mary, Joseph, Gabriel and baby Jesus he went all out, "You’ve never looked more beautiful,” I say reverently. “Because you choose to sit at my feet when you know that I would be the very ground you walked on if you asked.”

I did have a few issues with trying to keep track of time in this book and also how something played out prior to the epilogue. I wanted to know more of what happened during the time that Sarah made the decision that she did. I saw the aftermath but I hated that it wasn't discussed. I was wanting more there. However, this didn't change the story or alter my ability to enjoy it.

Every book in this series keeps getting better and is very individual to the characters it is about. I loved seeing the characters, both the past and future, as the story evolved. Dante didn't surpass Luca in my favorite but he sure came close. Holy titfire, did he ever. I am hoping that Mateo is next because I am majorly crushing on him after this book.

I highly recommend this series of interconnected standalones.

let me first preface this by saying that the cliques were bad when I was in High School, but this? Totally a different playing field. Normally I ty an steer away from High School romance, ESPECIALLY, if it is a love triangle. There is just something about the maturity level that drives me batty. The same holds true if they are TOO mature. It turns into a fine line of me rolling my eyes and shaking my head. Both of which ultimately lead me to drink wine sans the glass. However, leave it to this author to know how to traipse the fine line and remaining precariously balanced without tipping over either way.

Strong characters, plausible love triangle, and angst galore. I would have been hard-pressed to pick between Liam and Grey had I been Donovan. However, for her, I think she made the right choice. I had some minor issues with the story, the primary one being, as to why there had been so much distance the years that they were gone. Even if the parents wouldn't have told them where to find the other, there would still be social media or something for them to stay connected.

This was still a solid story from this amazing author. It seems like there might be more books in the future if the muses speak to her because she definitely left that possibility open in the conclusion.
