The art and music in this movie are some of the best in any animated movie ever. Definitely the best Disney movie out there with themes that are relevant today.

Valley of the Dolls is one of my favorite bad films that are good, so I assumed reading the book about the making of the film would be a no brainer choice. Oh boy was I wrong. This detailed book about every bit of casting and each change to the three different screenplay is boring. Who cares? Life is too short to waste time with Stephen Rebello’s exhausting book.

It's filled with concrete information, telling anecdotes, and workmanlike prose. Rebello is especially good on how Psycho--despite the reams and reams of money it made Hitchcock--proved to be a mixed blessing, at least for its director. Recommended.… (more)
