- Short biography
- Brought up during the war when few toys were available, Sheila was kept entertained with paper. Her father encouraged her to draw intricate patterns and make paper toys, and introduced her to the basic principles of paper engineering -- a pastime which has become a lifetime pleasure. She gives regular workshops in paper-related crafts fro the County and Borough Councils, and in 1989 she was a runner -up in the BBC-2 Paper Engineering competition. Sheila is interested in many crafts. She enjoys designing and making automata, moving toys and tatting shuttles. Her collection of corn dollies and straw work is now on permanent display at Shugborough Hall. Her other interests include golf and playing the clarinet with a local concert band. She is a Parish Council Clerk, qualified music teacher and, together with a friend, runs a book-keeping service for local traders. Sheila lives in Lancashire with her husband and has three sons.
