An honest and moving autobiography. The author shares her childhood and teenage experiences of the 1960s evangelical culture where she felt accepted and able to 'fit in', despite an odd sense of things happening around her and many suppressed doubts. As she grows up she becomes well-known as a writer but her worries increase along with the pressure. A sudden crisis leads to a gradual broadening and deepening of her faith.

Very moving, inspiring, thought-provoking and challenging; I enjoyed it just as much on re-reading twelve years after I first read it.

Highly recommended.

Rather dated, but nonetheless a useful book for parents wanting to know more about the teenage years, with some practical advice about when to help/suggest, and when to back right off. The writing style is positive and enjoyable to read, and the advice given is good. Written from a Christian perspective, but relevant to anyone with teenagers or pre-teens.

A short but useful book about marriage, its pros and cons, and possible pitfalls. Good for someone considering marriage or just starting out. Plenty of relevant anecdotes.
