Rumour at Nightfall

U* or A
U is the next forbidden if the British spelling of Rumor/Rumour is used, but I cant guarantee that it is
because I've never see a copy of this book. It was one of 2 that Greene did not want to be included in his Collected Works. (The other was The Name of Action.)
So, I would allow A on the possibility that
(U.S. spelling) the A s outnumbered the U s 2-1.

I agree, because under the existing rules, the frequency of E as the next "Forbidden Letter" makes it difficult and somewhat boring.* All titles with an English definite article in them, for example,
are ruled out in trying for an E-less post. Thatʻs something of a challenge, in itself, but not, to my mind, an interesting one.
*Your "Avoid O"(313) , b t w, does not follow the existing rules. (A tie among e, o and u, with the E in first place, makes E the next forbidden letter.)
I donʻt remember the start of the "Vanna. . ." thread clearly, but I seem to conect you with it. Are you the founder and original rule-maker of this game?

Would the new rule be "avoid the vowel per the present rules and also avoid the non-vowel which is the most used in the title, using the same rule as to the consonant as exists for the vowel? I don't know how that would work but we should require the consonant to be picked per a system rather than just at random, not?i
