This is another Dwight and the chicks from Old Town story. I really didn't care for it because we've already had Dwight overload from the previous two issues, and we already know Dwight's connection to Gail, who really wasn't that much of an interesting character to be back for this issue. It's just not that interesting seeing him take odd jobs at this age of his life trying to get to the bottom of something like a mob hit. Seems pointless and uninspired after The Yellow Bastard.

Since I'm not getting enough of a Marv fix this one really was boring. Miller's losing a lot of steam with this one, and adding drops of red color on hard to read drawn pictures doesn't help much. ( )

Another compelling read from Miller in his iconic Sin City series. Not much more to say than I did in my review of the first one ([b:Sin City, Vol. 1: The Hard Goodbye|392297|Sin City, Vol. 1 The Hard Goodbye (Sin City, #1)|Frank Miller|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1396598209s/392297.jpg|3696736]). My only complaint is that, compared to previous volumes, the story blows by way too quickly. ( )

In my re-read of Sin City this is the first of the series that achieved only a two star rating from me. It seemed as if the art quality in this issue diminished - there were less defined and spartan drawings, far more busy scenes that were ultimately a bit difficult to parse out. Miho, further, looked strangely unfinished. At times I had to reread a page multiple times, looking over the scene to figure out just what I missed.

[book: Family Values] largely focuses upon a mob-hit and the repercussions. Sometimes people get sloppy, after all, and unfortunate things tend to occur when that happens. This is a fairly cut and dry mystery - a slow climb to the top with Miho slicing through people on the way. The focus isn't really on Dwight or even Miho, it's an odd, floating story.

Ultimately, this book was all right, but nothing truly special. It entertained, but not to the extent that the other volumes did. It felt shorter, less developed, and ultimately the lack of focus on a single protagonist hurt more than it helped. Dwight's constant joking about just when he'd kill the bad guys ultimately didn't help the volume either. Altogether, it was fairly lackluster compared to the rest. Sin City tends to be much higher quality than this. ( )

The bummer with this? It's too damn short!!!

We have Dwight and "Deadly little Miho" on an 'adventure'! Well written, lots of action, especially for Miho, and like I said, it ends too quickly for my tastes. Can't wait to read the next volume! ( )

Finally a story that isn't in the first two movies. It's a shorter one that doesn't really have the normal twists and turns. Kind of a let down actually. ( )

A Sin City tale of violent revenge when a Family killing includes the wrong innocent victim. Fine noir story, with deadly little Miho a fascinating presence throughout. ( )

This is the slimmest volume in the Sin City series so far, and the overall quality suffers for this. The story is slim, with the reason for revenge given very late in the game and not convincing enough to get the reader to believe Dwight would be a part of this particular thirst for blood. The illustrations don’t seem up to par with Miller’s usual excellence. The character of Miho, in particular, is sketched poorly. While it won’t turn me away from the rest of the series, I’m glad this book was first in the series or I might not have ventured on to the others. ( )

Great story, yet again! ( )

A tour of vendetta with Dwight and Miho. One of the shortest book in the series. Storywise it may be one of the least interesting ones, but it is drawn with such brilliant precision that I couldn't stop reading. And I like Miho. She gets things done, while not saying a word...
All in all, a good addition to the story arc with Dwight and the girls of the Old Town. ( )

I found this to be the thinnest and lest interesting of the seven book series, but hey, it's still Frank Miller's Sin City: a dark, gripping narrative with a moral twist that is hauntingly drawn... ( )
