This is a book that teaches people how to achieve spiritual growth by following Christian values. It tells them to think of the world as temporary and prepare for life in heaven, where they will be with God. We were made in God's image and are meant to share his love with others.

I enjoyed it because I was able to see and read and understand what my purpose in life was and how I should go about doing the Purpose that God gave me. I enjoyed reading it and it gave me hope and peace that the journey I am on is focusing on my relationship with Elohim (God) and only Elohim was the right choice. I learned that finding a husband and having a child is not what Elohim wants me to do. He wants me to focus on Him and serving Him with a pure heart, a willing mind, and a teachable soul. He wants to shape me into a unique creation and He wants me to be myself. A unique and blessed individual who loves life and loves Him above all. I learned that my Purpose is different from those around me and that chasing after Elohim is better than chasing after men who do not care about me and who do not treat me with respect. I learned that if I serve Elohim faithfully and truthfully each day, month, and year and focus on my relationship with Him then He will provide me a uniquely crafted husband of His choosing for me to spend the rest of my life with. This last year has easily been the most painful year of my life. I found myself angry at God and angry in general. I was mean, bitter, irritated, heartbroken, and sad all the time. I’d be driving home from work and bawl my eyes out while literally screaming and crying in emotional pain. Then, one day, not long ago, a book was randomly mentioned on TV and the title of the book stuck in my memory for some reason. I decided to look it up on Amazon, it had good reviews and was only a few bucks so I bought it. It sat on my desk for about a week but after one particularly rough day I brought the book outside with me, sat in the shade, and began to read. I had no idea what to expect but I felt my heart begin to change with each chapter. After a year full of anger, pain, and suffering this book was deliberately put into my life to point me in the right direction. I still have so much more work to do but this book showed me where to start. If any of this sounds like you maybe it can help you too. ( )

I know there are many people impressed by Rick Warren and this book. But I'm not one of them. This book wasn't what I expected, which was: how do we know what is God's will for our lives? I found the book actually annoying at times because of the way he markets his other books and products as well as his use of alliteration to push important points. ( )

My first Bible Study book with the Women's Ministry of Faith Landmark MBC. This is a great book for anyone who wants to know their purpose in life. This book opened my eyes to the deeper meaning of living for God. ( )

This book was OK, it does not deserve the hype that slot of Christians give it, it's pretty repetitive and kind of boring, does not proclaim the Gospel directly and clearly nor is it clear for what audience it was written for ( )

The author explains his use of multiple translations and paraphrasing but it still put me off. I felt like he was making the verses fit his purpose rather than presenting them in context and according to their original meaning. It would have been nice to have in text citation for the verses instead of end notes, especially where he used heavy paraphrasing. My biggest problem with the book though is that he seemed to forget who his audience is: unbeliever or believer. Either way, the book is mental fluff. ( )
