Ehhhh. Mostly I'm going to sum this up by saying, if you're in the middle of a gunfight, running for your lives, and you get reunited with your man, it's probably not the best time to expect a hug, a kiss, and a smile from him. And also, don't actually be disappointed when he doesn't even notice you smiling at him during said running for your lives. ( )

Great fantasy series. The trilogy doesn't end but goes on for FIVE more books! Which is great if you can afford the books...

The author creates a very good story. This story follows the main characters of Sardelle and Ridge. Sardelle has been in stasis for about three hundred years since humanity turned on magic users and literally brought a mountain down on their home and she is the only one that survives to wake up when humanity is mining that very same mountain which is now part of a prison complex. There is a war in progress with a people called the cofah. Ridge is a pilot commander who is quite a maverick and is sent to command the mountain prison complex. This is where Sardelle and Ridge meet and get pulled into many adventures including Sardlle's struggle to survive and understand a new world where magic users are still killed if found and otherwise very much feared. Intertwined is the technology which known or not is powered by magic artifacts and dragon blood. Very good story set with many aspects including the complexity of interpersonal interactions with numerous characters. I will certainly be continuing to read the next books in the series. ( )

Amazing books, couldn't put them down! So beautifully written and captivating! Can't wait to read the rest ( )
