Call of The Zone is a standalone modification for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Call of Pripyat that allows you to explore the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone – a desolate and highly contaminated region of Ukraine that has been abandoned and closed off for decades ever since the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. What has been going on in this irradiated wasteland since then? There are no shortage of rumors and conspiracy theories, each more fantastic than the last. Rumors of mutated wildlife, brainwashed cults, secret experiments, and unexplainable paranormal events abound, as do promises of great riches and wildest dreams coming true for those who are daring or desperate enough to try to break through the cordon. You are about to find out for yourself what is true and what is yet undiscovered, and experience for yourself all the Zone has to offer... or to take from you.
Built upon Team Epic’s revolutionary Call of Chernobyl mod that incorporated the maps from all three original Stalker games into a vast and freely explorable Exclusion Zone as well as adding countless features and improvements, Call of The Zone delivers numerous gameplay and immersion enhancements for your adventure into the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Featuring a dynamic storyline that will lead you all throughout the Zone, Call of the Zone features hundreds of unique, dynamic, repeatable tasks and dozens of brand new task types. Task targets, areas, rewards are determined in real time whenever a task is offered. Infinite replayability is possible as your game will never be the same no matter how many adventures you take into the Zone!
In addition to the dynamic tasking system, the Zone itself is now completely dynamic. Factions will create alliances and go to war with each other. Anomalies can appear anywhere and shift position with every blowout. Mutants and stalkers are spawned dynamically and with far more variety. A-life is free to wander the Zone and is no longer tied to limited areas. The Zone is alive and continually transforming as you make your way through it.
Call of The Zone features numerous gameplay enhancements, custom and restored dialogs, graphical improvements, a-life enhancements, performance tweaks, and bugfixes. Gameplay and immersion were the overarching priorities, to deliver you a fun and thrilling adventure into the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone whether you are a seasoned veteran stalker or brand new to the Zone!

Old but Gold textures for CotZ foliage (trees, bushes, grass)
This add-on includes black version of some of the UI textures that Mahzra's add-on doesn't cover!
This addon improves vanilla CoTZ combat system without adding new weapons or textures.
hey, a bit curious here,
anyone can create Maximum Upgrades addon for outfit and weapons?
at least for vanilla items.
Kinda miss that from CoC and CotZ combat is brutal enough to justify that hehe...
I think Mahzra or Rhons will be able to help you with that, as soon as they see your message.
Yeah, hopefully they read this and wanna help,
Maximum upgrade surely help me through the hard section of the game (lab raid, CNPP).
Anyway, recently I open up my old personal modpack and thx to Mahzra CU, it is easier this time. Now I am testing the Absolute Nature and Structure Redux from CoC 1.5, somehow it is very compatible!
I skipped adding any lightning addon tho, it cause minor stutter or lag during my underground raid somehow :o
I could probably do something like Maximum Upgrades, yeah. I'll have a look at the CoC files and see if I can simply enable all upgrades at once. I'm curious too, and the current upgrade trees in CoTZ need at least a revision, anyway. Maybe even an overhaul.
Well, it will worth the wait, thx again Mahz!
Well, it will worth the wait, thx again Mahz!
So did you figure out any change to your game?
No, instead I installed the Mahzra's Gameplay Overhaul. Armor and Weapons are increased in stats and durability, so it feel much better now.
what difficulty is the hardest? gotta reload?
Oh, if you're using Mahzra's Package please post questions on its page instead. I kinda assume questions asked here refer to vanilla CoTZ or CoTZ Community Update and it may confuse other players.
As for the question: Gotta Reload is the hardest difficulty, yeah. It hates the player and everything they stand for. I don't recommend this mode for your first playthrough of my addon. Stay Frosty is more in line with Master difficulty in other mods.
Has anyone ever tried to port DoctorX stuff from this mod to newer CoC 1.5r7 or even anomaly engine?
A few other mods had announced they would include the DRX quest lines stuff from this mod, but I suspect they kind of underestimated how much work that would be. It's not just quests.
Off the top of my head, both AREA and Dark Signal said porting the DRX stuff would be next on their feature list. I don't think AREA will come through on this, but I have some hope for Dark Signal. There's a very competent team on that mod.
Personally I hope some day everything that makes CoTZ what it is will be ported to something like Old World Addon. We could do amazing things with a new engine and a fresh start. It's a rather daunting task though.
Same, i really hope so
The Dark Signal devs said they intended to port the quests over to their modpack, but they've gone into hiatus since then. Other than that, I don't think anyone else has tried to port DoctorX's stuff over to other engines/mods.
how does one get companions?
In MPv2 you can only get temporary companions for missions and such. Slavery has been disabled.
When you start out, you may only get temporary Companions depending on the task. A Companion is usually someone within the same Faction and you can hire them when they are friendly "green" to the Player. Some Factions you start out neutral "yellow", meaning you have to do many jobs and tasks to change your own Faction to "green" status. As you gain experience in the Game, you will slowly be able to hire more Companions. Likewise, when you turn other Factions, friendly "green" you can hire them, as Companions too. However, a word of warning, traveling with Companions of a Faction different than yours can be difficult because you each may have different enemies and allies.
