Game asks for CD when trying to start despite the CD being present

Make sure the CD is inserted or mounted in letter D[1]

Use the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit[2]
  1. Install Microsoft ACT.
  2. Run the Compatibility Administrator (32-bit).
  3. Select New Database (1) and press Fix.
  4. Fill in the program name, as well as the location of the program. Press next.
  5. Press Next again.
  6. Check NoGDIHWAcceleration.
  7. Press Next.
  8. Press Select All.
  9. Press Finish.
  10. Press Save, select the database name and save location.
  11. Press File - Install.
