Green Farms is a trusted name back home.

Green Family Farms (It's French Fries in "Blue Tater") is a business which, as its name suggests, is ran by the Green family. It spans back to Jerome and Bixby Green's time, and is currently under Cricket, Tilly, Bill and Alice Green. After Bill and the kids moved to the country in "The Move", it's unknown if Alice and Gloria Sato took charge of the business.

Its main rival was Wholesome Foods, and was repeatedly threatened by its power-hungry CEO Chip Whistler, settling the score after Chip, having faked a poll for the mayor, brought a wrecking crew to the house with the intention to demolish it and build a mega-store only to fail.

Overview[]

A successful business spanning back to Bixby Green's era to the here and now in their Big City life, the Green family farm procures and sells organic produce to the masses, though the business has come under threats from outside sources like Chip Whistler's Wholesome Foods; as threats to the business come and go, the Greens will always be on the ready to protect their farm and their legacy.

Appearance[]

Like most stands, it is a basic display stand with roof cover and displays for the produce. This stand is slightly different than most others however, since because the Greens are poor, it uses a tattered blanket as the roof cover and doesn't have the logo monogrammed on the front, instead having a barely noticeable sign hang from the front left end. The stand is also noticeably smaller than the others. Since Gloria taught the Greens to advertise their stand through social media, it is updated to include a sign on the roof featuring the farm's logo and the Greens' faces on various fruits: Cricket is an apple, Tilly is a lemon, Bill is a watermelon, and Gramma is a pumpkin.

As of "Long Goodbye", for some reason, the colors of Tilly's picture were changed to have pink skin and dark purple hair, representing an eggplant or a sugarplum. According to Shane Houghton, Tilly's "lemon" appearance was an early version that went by unnoticed, and her colors were changed to "correct" her appearance.[1]

Known branches[]

  • The Greens' house, which is where the produce is grown and harvested.
  • The Farmer's Market, which is usually where the produce is sold.
  • The roof garden, located on top of the former Big Coffee building, an alternate location where produce is grown, opened in "Level Up". It was destroyed in "Chipocalypse Now" but one of the plantation areas were saved. It reopened after opening their new café.
  • The Food Truck Round-Up, where the Greens sold French fries. This is the only place where they did not sell under the Green Family Farms name, instead using the name "It's French Fries".
  • A mobile service, as seen in "Car Trouble".
  • A door-to-door service, as seen in "Spaghetti Theory". Unlike other branches, this does not pay them.
  • The country barn, which was burnt down before Cricket found Phoenix ("Phoenix Rises") but rebuilt some time after. It was most likely reopened after the Greens bought back their old house.

Produce sold[]

The family farm is known for its 100% organic produce of fruits and vegetables, such as tomatoes and zucchini. The only non-organic produce the farm has ever made available for purchase is the set of fake produce, made out of items like an 8-ball, which was made by Cricket to make good on the farm's notorious first deal with Wholesome Foods.

In "Blue Tater", the farm sold French fries under the name "It's French Fries". This is the only time to date the farm sold something that's not a fruit nor vegetable (on a technicality as potatoes are vegetables).

Threats[]

Riders approaching the Green house

The farm is known for facing a threat at least once per generation, which almost results in the farm getting demolished, sold, etc. The adults are intent on giving in, but the kids don't back down and convince them not to let go of the place and do their part. With that, they then do something which saves the farm and keeps it alive into the next generation.

The known threats the farm has faced are:

  • A railroad moving their next stop away from the Greens' house; saved by Bixby selling produce on horseback.
  • An aphid storm threatening their crops; saved by Metrona releasing ladybugs to eat the aphids.
  • Lack of water for crops to grow, threatening to sell the farm; saved by Alice finding a well.
  • Lack of money due to Ernest Green's death; this was unpreventable, as Alice sold the farmland to Quisling, who subsequently developed it into Big City.
  • Lack of money due to competition with industrial works like Mass Dairy Factory Farms and Nancy's imprisonment; this was also unpreventable, as Bill had to sell the country farm and move to Big City with his kids. While the old farm was repossessed, the Greens' old house was never sold and Bill re-purchased it a while later.
  • Don and Dawn wanting to buy the Greens' house and replace it with a yoga studio; saved by Cricket and Tilly finding the Green family treasure.
  • Chip Whistler and Wholesome Foods; while the threat is considered inconsequential prior to "Reckoning Ball", where the house was almost destroyed by a wrecking ball, "Chipwrecked" showed it was almost unpreventable, due to Chip's expansion plan, though it was saved by all the Greens and their friends by rebelling against Mayor Hansock's planned demolition of the Greens' house, and stopping the construction of the Wholesome Foods Mega-Store in "Chipocalypse Now".
  • The stand nearly running out of money in "Sellouts". This instance is unlike the other ones where all the Greens but Nancy pitched in to help gain customers. The farm is saved by Gloria's social media idea. This marks the first time the stand is saved by one of the Greens' friends.

Ever since then, the business has been kept afloat by a steady stream of income.

As "It's French Fries", the business was "threatened" by Cricket spreading the blue tater curse rumor, but saved by the Greens pushing back against the "curse".
