Kodama Horaki (洞木コダマ, Horaki Kodama^?) is a fictional character. She is a college student and older sister of Hikari Horaki and Nozomi Horaki.

Profile[]

Kodama is mentioned by Hikari to Asuka in passing when she asks her to go on a date with her friend. The eldest daughter of the Horaki family. A science major attending a technical university. Working part-time at a cafe. A beautiful, slightly gentle girl with glasses.^[1]

Neon Genesis Evangelion Proposal[]

She was cited for the first time in Hikari Horaki profile in Neon Genesis Evangelion Proposal.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA[]

Kodama was traveling with her sisters in a little town in Germany when Armaros attacked Earth using the Spear of Longinus. Just like other millions of people around the world, she was also turned into salt by the particles in the sky.^[2]

When Toji comes to meet Hikari after the Valley of Human Bodies operations in North Africa, Hikari gave him a glass ampoule, saying it was the remains of her sister. According to Toji, she had a cheerful personality, he even called her nee-san. Hikari asked him to bring Kodama's remains to Hakone. Even when Toji argued that it shouldn't be something to give to another one, Hikari said that if Toji took from her, it is something that she knows that she will be able come home one day. She also said that Nozomi was still on Germany. Toji wondered if there was something he could do to get her back to safety but Hikari refused, saying that she was the only one who could pilot Evangelion EURO-II Heurtebise and it was more complicated than just bringing her home, knowing it was Asuka's mother inside her Evangelion.^[3]

After regaining control inside the Torwart Toji with the Bardiel powers, Toji attacks Armaros in an attempt to rip the Heurtebise from Armaros. Armaros attacked Torwart Toji and managed to smash its chest with its left hand. From there, the canopy of the Su-27 SMN² Platypus II, Toji was inside it and reach both Kensuke and Hikari. Toji used the glass ampoule to remind Hikari, that her real sister isn't a monster. Regaining her emotions, the Torwart Kodama weakens and it received fire from the Yamato, until it crumbles. Torwart Toji managed to remove Heurtebise from inside the Armaros but it fell from the sky. Evangelion Unit-0.0 used her prog knife to remove Toji's from the cockpit of the Platypus II as he struggled to control Bardiel's hyphae.^[4]

Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion THE ANIMATION[]

Hikari and her sisters, Kodama and Nozomi, cameo in episode 31 of the kids train mecha TV anime Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion THE ANIMATION. They give a car ride to main Shinkalion protagonist Hayato Hayasugi. The cameo is notable for being Kodama and Nozomi's first on-screen appearances in any Evangelion-related media. Junko Iwao, Hikari's voice actress in the Evangelion TV anime, voices her and her sisters during the episode.^[5]
