Kyros is the former Commander of the Dressrosa Army and former undefeated Gladiator in the Colosseum. He is the father of Rebecca and widower of Scarlett.

History[]

Background[]

Kyros was a street thug, who had a bad reputation and once killed two people after his friend was killed.

When he was 15, he met King Riku Doldo III who he struck with a club after his men came to arrest him. However, the king offered a way for Kyros to serve his sentence without being imprisoned. He had Kyros participate in the gladiator games, where he easily excelled but over time lamented that he was known for spilling blood. When visiting his friend's grave, he tearfully wished everyone would forget him, something that ironically came true.

Soon Riku made him his commander, with the people coming to respect him. Unfortunately, Riku's eldest daughter Scarlett was not too welcoming and told him to stay away from her and her sister, despite him being assigned to protecting them. When she was kidnapped by pirates, he saved her by easily killing the crew and sinking the ship, Scarlett was surprised he did so in spite of her treatment and embraced him.

From that point, Scarlett fell in love with him and soon he felt the same. Scarlett faked her death, allowing her and Kyros to get married.

They had a daughter named Rebecca and lived in a house far from the kingdom. Kyros treasured his daughter but always wore gloves to avoid sullying her with his criminal hands while often regard as weird by his wife and in-laws. Nevertheless, he was happy to have a family.

Dressrosa Arc[]

When Sugar's curse broke, Thunder Soldier transformed back into Kyros and wasted no time charging at Doflamingo. As this occurred, his family regained their memories of him and broke into tears of joy. He then attacked Doflamingo, as Riku called out to him and they shared a tearful reunion before Kyros decapitated Doflamingo. Kyros proceeded to unleash his wrath on the officers by defeating Buffalo and the foot soldiers before freeing Riku. However, the battle was not over as Doflamingo was actually alive and created a string clone of himself, while nearly Kyros who was saved by Luffy. Kyros and his allies were flung out the palace and soon found Zoro.

When Doflamingo initiated the birdcage, he had the populace go after his twelve hated enemies. Kyros was included in the list, with all of Dressrosa recalling him. During this time, he personally fought through many pirates and officers to go after Doflamingo.

Kyros eventually met up with Luffy, Law, and Cavendish by hopping a ride on the Pirate Prince's horse. He made it clear that now that he was human again he wanted to personally go after Diamante, the man who took his wife by killing him with bare hands.

He later stopped Diamante from killing Rebecca, declaring he wouldn't let him take two of his family. At this point, he was finally reunited with his daughter who broke down at seeing him again. He engaged Diamante to avenge his wife, while allowing Luffy and Law to go after Doflamingo.

During the fight, Kyros landed a cut on Diamante who used his devil fruit to shake the ground. Diamante soon recognized him as the toy soldier who mourned Scarlett and realized his connection to her and Rebecca. He taunted on his loss while voicing he wanted to see the pain on his face as Kyros by attacking Rebecca. However, Kyros protected her and forbade his daughter from intervening.

Kyros continued the fight with Diamante and after overcoming his dirty tricks, he successfully cut the latter down and defeated him.

Much later, he was worried for Riku when Pica intended to crush him with his statue form but was amazed when Zoro promptly destroyed it and defeated the Donquixote executive.

Levely Arc[]

He and his family attended the Levely.

Appearance[]

He is a large man with long black hair with a scar on his forehead, due to having taken a blow from Riku in the Colosseum. He is missing his leg, due to sacrificing it to save Riku from Doflamingo.

Due to the ten years, he spent as a toy, he did not age physically upon transforming back to normal.

Personality[]

Kyros was ashamed of his criminal past, to the point where he tried to distance himself from his daughter so she could live without the burden. However, when she confronted him and stated his past meant nothing, he tearfully asked her if she really was okay with him as her father and was happy, she accepted him.

Abilities And Powers[]

Being a skilled warrior, he held tremendous strength and was able to destroy a pirate ship on his own to save Scarlett. He was the Undefeated Gladiator and he was known to have fought at least 3,000 battles with some of his battles including a Giant and Fishman. His only known scratch was from Ricky, who he recognized as a disguised Riku. Kyros also defeated Buffalo and later his successor the Hero of the Colosseum Diamante in battle, after overcoming his tricks. Even while wounded, he easily defeated several Donquixote foot soldiers.

As a former commander of the army, he had authority of low-level soldiers but upon resigning, he lost those privileges. He later assembled a crew of Dwarves to help him overthrow Doflamingo.

Kyros had impressive endurance, as he withstood six days without food, severing his leg, and being bombarded by the spiked balls Diamante shot in the air.

Even as a toy, he was very strong as he defended Rebecca from a pack of wolves and kidnappers. He also took down many Donquixote Family soldiers before being overwhelmed by the officers.

Weaknesses[]

  • Off-guard: Due to having one leg, he is easily vulnerable to shifty environments or if his leg is shot.
  • Toy physiology: As a toy, he was susceptible to rust and had low endurance. Another weakness is that Kyros, as a toy was an inorganic object and could be exploded by Gladius' devil fruit.
