Bean Fever is a disease that affects foreigners and is commonly afflicted in the Beanbean Kingdom. This is seen in the games, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions.

Description[]

The sickness can cause the person stricken with the disease to become a bean if the disease is not cured in three days. Mario caught Bean Fever when he ate an Invincishroom (which was actually a Poison Mushroom in the remake) and was put under intensive care. Luigi was sent to obtain Crabbie Grass, which is the only known cure of Bean Fever, and only found in the Guffawha Ruins.

While infected, Mario has a green face, akin to regular beans.

• Bean Fever is one of few aliments in the series that cannot be inflicted during battle. The other being the Blorbs.
  • Coincidentally, both of these ailments were caused by a type of mushroom and are only seen in the Mario & Luigi series.
