The Spiky Stardust Defense System (abbreviated to SSDS) is a procedure in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions found only in Stardust Fields.

It serves as a tutorial for using Mario and Luigi's jumps in tandem. The obstacle is a series of glowing spikes that extend from one side to another. If either bro lands on it they both go flying to just before the obstacle.
