Vanden sector

Map of the Vanden sector.

The Vanden sector was a region of space, a sector in the Zeta Andromedae sector block in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. The Vanden sector lay in space claimed by the Cardassian Union. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Seeds of Dissent")

Location[]

The Vanden sector was one of four sectors making up the Zeta Andromedae sector block, with the Arawath sector on the coreward border, and the Kora and Orias sectors on the borders facing towards the Beta Quadrant. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Seeds of Dissent")

History[]

The Cardassian Union remained a weakened nation in the decades following the end of the Dominion War. The True Way took advantage of that and harassed Cardassian colonies in the Vanden sector. (STO novel: The Needs of the Many, STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Seeds of Dissent")

In 2409, an Allied starship visited Goralis III, to assist Orra Val of the agricultural colony. The Allied away team battled Gul Granspir and his band of True Way, who assaulted Goralis III. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Seeds of Dissent")

With the astrometric reorganization that eliminated sector blocks in 2410, the Vanden sector was removed from the maps. Most of its component star systems became part of the Orias sector. (STO - Reckoning mission: "Cardassian Struggle")
