Detective Chao is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Chao that can increase their bonded individual's rewards.

Appearance[]

Detective Chao have cyan pudding-like bodies with round, waterdrop-like heads. They also have closed eyes, no noses or mouths, round torsos that are smaller than their heads, smooth feet with no legs, and arms with no visible hands. In addition, neither their arms or feet have digits. However, they have yellow tips on their arms, feet, and head points. They also have a floating yellow dot above their heads, a short and round tail, and a small set of wings on their backs. For attire, they wear a cuffed brown coat with a plaid pattern, and a brown cap with the same pattern. They also hold a magnifying glass with a brown handle, yellow rim, and blue lens in their right hand

Overview[]

In Sonic Speed Simulator, Detective Chao is a collectible pet of the "Epic" rarity. It could be unlocked during the "Play Detective Event", where two Detective Chao could be unlocked by collecting 50000 digital footprints, and three Detective Chao by collecting 75000 of them. Alternatively, the player could unlock them by paying with Robux during the same event.

In gameplay, Detective Chao can be equipped to the playable character, allowing them to fly by the side of the playable character as they move around. In addition, when equipped, the Detective Chao will grant additional Experience Points whenever the playable character obtains a Chaos Orb and additional Rings whenever they pick up a single Ring. The player can as well level up Detective Chao for a cost of Rings and/or Red Star Rings at the Upgrade Machine, with level 25 being the maximum level. Leveling up a Detective Chao will improve its reward-granting attributes. Additionally, the player can fuse a Detective Chao by collecting five of them, leveling all of them up to maximum, and bringing them to the Fusion Machine. Fusing a Detective Chao will result in a singular fused Chao at level 1.

Powers and abilities[]

Detective Chao are capable of flight. In addition, they possess the power to increase the rewards granted to the person they have bonded with.
