Thank you so much for your question! The sequel does focus on Matty and Rob. It continues their story in New York City with Matty pursuing coaching and Rob pursuing Matty's happiness (as always). It's definitely a kinky read and I'm not sure if I should blush or be proud to say that they certainly don't back down from their Training Season sexual shenanigans. :)

I do have other books planned for this universe. I want to write a third and probably final book with Matty and Rob as the main characters, but then I want to do a book on Angus & Bill, Elliot and his future love interest, and even a mixed het/gay book about Ben & his girlfriend and his gay bff and his love interest.

But we'll have to see what time allows. I have this first sequel and then five other books on the menu before I can contemplate that. Possibly six if I do a Smoky Mountain Dreams sequel in there somewhere. Gosh! So many books to write! :D

THANK YOU for the interest! I hope this answers your question for you!(less)

As for your question, well, I hope to write one, yes. I have one half-planned in my head. I know what the main conflict will be and how it comes about. The main issue is time. I have a full-time job, plus the mommy gig and the wife gig, and so, despite my best efforts, getting more than two or three books out a year is tough. I've got a line-up of books that I have half-completed and/or entirely complete that will come out first. (The list: Training Season sequel, a four book series that is mostly complete, and a priest/rockstar book I plan to do with Indra Vaughn this year.) But, yes, I do very much hope to deliver a sequel to SMD. Probably in 2016. Hopefully in 2016. Oh, to be able to write full time!!! *sigh* One day. One day, my friend. :D Anyway, I'm utterly thrilled that you'd want one! Thank you for asking!(less)

Leta Blake’s Top Reads of 2022

I thought I’d go ahead and do a fast blog post about my favorite reads of 2022. You can see where I took on my Pink Cover Challenge, because suddenly all (but a few) covers are pink. Basically, I have challenged myself to read my backlist of books in cover-color order. This allows me the diversity of topic I like, while also making me get through that backlist! (But it sort of backfired, because I

“Honey, are you being safe?'
'I wear my seat belt, yes.'
'Does this Rob Lovely wear a seat belt too?'
Matty sighed. 'Mother, seat belts should be worn at all times when in a moving vehicle. Didn't you teach me that?'
'So long as we're both talking about condoms here, then I'll leave it.'
'Consider it left.”
Leta Blake, Training Season

(Elliot) 'Oh, bitch. You've lost your ever-loving mind.”
Leta Blake, Training Season

“Matty blinked. 'You're passing up whips for shopping?'
'You're bitching about shopping?' Rob countered.
'I feel so torn!' Matty pulled at his hair. 'Oh my god. You suck.”
Leta Blake, Training Season

“Everybody has a secret world inside of them. I mean everybody. All of the people in the whole world, I mean everybody — no matter how dull and boring they are on the outside. Inside them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds... Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands, maybe.”
Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 5: A Game of You

“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

“Lebedeva’s eyes shone. “Masha, listen to me. Cosmetics are an extension of the will. Why do you think all men paint themselves when they go to fight? When I paint my eyes to match my soup, it is not because I have nothing better to do than worry over trifles. It says, I belong here, and you will not deny me. When I streak my lips red as foxgloves, I say, Come here, male. I am your mate, and you will not deny me. When I pinch my cheeks and dust them with mother-of-pearl, I say, Death, keep off, I am your enemy, and you will not deny me. I say these things, and the world listens, Masha. Because my magic is as strong as an arm. I am never denied.”

“Marya Morevna! Don't you know anything? Girls must be very, very careful to care only for ribbons and magazines and wedding rings. They must sweep their hearts clean of anything but kisses and theater and dancing. They must never read Pushkin; they must never say clever things; they must never have sly eyes or wear their hair loose and wander around barefoot, or they will draw his attention!”

Leta Blake ⚡️.99 CENT SALE⚡️
Leta Blake writing as Blake Moreno, with her darkest romance yet.

"This is a very powerful book. Dark, gritty, raw, and not easy to read. For an author to start a book out with such horrible darkness. To show us a humanity stripped of all its good and have us endure a Hell not many would survive and then turn it into a happiness we all wish we could feel just once in our lives? That's serious talent. I applaud the author and I do recommend this story." - Diverse Reader Reviews

Amz US: http://bit.ly/DiffBet99
Amz Universal: http://mybook.to/DiffBetween99

"Know that this is a difficult book, but the love story is incredible. Both Russ and Wade are amazingly strong characters. Nothing about what they go through is easy and would break lesser men. I loved this story and it has made it onto my reread list because it brought me to tears and moved me a lot." - Christi Snow, author of the Snowcroft Men series
"This is a great read, difficult at times but the characters' strength and love come out loud and clear." - Crystal's Many Reviewers, 5 star review

*

"You're the strongest person I know.”

Wade Maguire and Russ Paulson are in love. After a year of passion and happiness, they’re buying a home and moving in together. Everything is rosy for them—until a jealous and insane ex from Wade’s past puts all of that to the test.

"I need to figure out if there’s a way to move past this. For both of us.”

After being kidnapped and tortured by his deranged former lover, Wade loses his ability to engage with his own sexuality or with Russ. With the help of a psychologist, EMDR therapy, and a sex plan, they work together to overcome the damage inflicted. In the process, they discover wells of love they’ve never known before.

“You never deserved what happened to you. No matter what you’ve told yourself. You only deserved love.”

As passion is reborn and their sex life reignited, Wade realizes a need to re-experience certain events in Russ’s loving arms. For Wade, the difference between pain and pleasure is love, and the difference between rape and rough sex is consent.

Dark, and yet ultimately hopeful, this story of true love and rape recovery contains many emotional and graphic scenes of two men making love, as well as some intense scenes of torture. Proceed with care.

The Difference Between is a 78,000 word steamy, graphic, intensely emotional novel with a strong happy ending. No cheating and no cliffhangers, just two men who fight for their love. STAND-ALONE

Leta Blake Book recommendations, por favor! What I'm looking for specifically includes any of the following:
1) Your absolute go-to m/m book.
2) Good effeminate character in a m/m book.
3) Favorite nerd/jock trope, yay!
4) Favorite comfort read.
5) Best m-preg because I'm a contrarian and when people hate something, I gotta have some of it.

Anything else you think I need to check out! I've got a ton of books on my e-reader right now, but for some reason none of them are really speaking to me. I need to spend some money. :P

Leta Blake Okay, Goodreads is so glitchy right now. On the main page, it shows The River Leith with 4 ratings, when I click that open, it shows 3 ratings, and when I click ratings details it only shows 2 ratings. That's the same number of ratings since Saturday, despite the other numbers changing over the last few days. The two it shows are a 5 star and a 3 star, but the average is 3 stars since Saturday, too? I dunna even know, you guys. So weird. And vaguely more stressful than just knowing that someone gave it 1 star or something. I should stop looking! *nods* (Psst, I probably won't. But I should.)

message 19: by Leta

Leta Blake Jeez, found more than a few typos in the ARCs of The River Leith that went out. *sigh* Lead/led even! Fixing these for the final. If anyone with an ARC sees something and feels generous enough to let me know, now would be an awesome time! THANK YOU!

Leta Blake Has anyone with a Nook version of Training Season had trouble with it? Let me know!! Thank you!

Leta Blake I wanted to add Chimpanzees I Have Loved by Jane Goodall to my currently reading list but, alas, it's not listed here on Goodreads and I'm definitely not going to take the time to add it. It's great, though, and my kiddo is rapt!

message 14: by Leta

Leta Blake Why isn't Goodreads importing my blog posts anymore? It's so odd because when I got to edit the blog, put in the feed again, it shows all my newest posts and asks if this is correct. Leta Blake I was thinking about Calling Pomegranate today with regards to the ridiculous dispute about whether or not women should write (gay) men. I think that anyone who read Calling Pomegranate would find it indisputable that Nisha-Anne D'Souza has captured a male voice in a way that is at times amazing and appalling. (It took me awhile, but I have found my affection for Sean.) If you want to read a woman writing a decidedly male voice, give it a look. I'll warn you that it took me 25% of the way in to really feel anything other than appalled by Sean and his thought processes, but it was worth getting there. I think this book will end up being the one I think about the most in 2013 for many reasons.
