This was so entertaining and funny. I loved this, very underrated cause I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talking about this one. Every character was so real and the plot was incredible. I can’t write a competent enough review to give this justice. Just read it and enjoy.

The setting, the suspense, the characters. Ughhh stephen king you are a master of writing. Everything felt so real, it was like watching a carefully crafted film. Jack, danny, wendy, halloran… they all felt so genuine and raw. I don’t know how to describe it to someone who’s never read king but his writing just puts you there. It submerges. And it takes you along on the ride.
Highly recommend. Incredible from beginning to end. ...more

With all the hype surrounding Tomorrow x3, I guess I expected it to be better than it was. It was still a good read, and it’s actually gotten me to pull out my Switch and start gaming again, but there was just something missing for me.
The dialogue wasn’t that great, the miscommunication trope was annoying and all the trauma that the characters went through felt inauthentic and forced for the narrative, i.e. (no spoilers) the shooting, suicide, physical disability. The time jumps throughout made the story less impactful imo because you don’t have time to fully invest in each character’s journey. The parts about games and game design I actually liked.
All in all, I liked it. Would I recommend it… maybe? ...more

And yes, I did just type that sentence, much to my chagrin.
Yeah this was an odd one. Can’t say I enjoyed it, but it did compel me to keep going somehow. I like what hawkins did with steve and erwin as characters and even carolyn was interesting, the way she dealt with her trauma and figuring out her master plan was incredibly rewarding once unraveled. As far I know, I didn’t see any trigger warnings at the front of the book but please research before reading, cause it deals with A LOT of heavy topics.
The characters and the plot were interesting enough, but I’m not really sure what I gained by reading this, other than a stronger stomach. The ending was pretty satisfying though.

2. Prophet of corruption - 4.5 stars Oh how the mighty have fallen. I loved how the concept of corruption was completely flipped in that it’s actually a good thing. Corruption makes you more human and your life have meaning. If we are all one, we’d have no individuality. No personality. No uniqueness. And all those qualities are what make life worth living
